Monoprints

I had one final screenprinting class yesterday, so I thought, since I had only 3 hours of time, to make some monoprints. This is not a method I've used before. The word 'monoprint' can be applied to unique prints made with a variety of printmaking methods (so long as there are not multiples). These are beautiful! I've never heard of drawing on the screen with printing before, that is something new. Very cool!!!! Very pretty snowflakes! :^)

I actually like the less pressure versions a lot even tho they're a bit accidental. I love that the stencils got printed so prettily too.

I am sad I missed it, as that was one of my favourite processes last time, alas I gave R the image (of us, I recall I used silk dye) and she has put it somewhere:(

At least I made it to the part of the course that familiarizes one with how to use the space and materials, so I am now hoping to proceed to "day passes" which can be used when I need them, there are ideas that really want out onto paper...

anyway I'm sorry I missed hanging out for the most part as well, are you going into the lab most days or are you free for tea or lunch sometime?

Thanks very much! I like the low pressure versions too - especially of the jellyfish. I'm going to keep that one ( ... )
