Oh, but this is fabulous! So imaginitive...it's like a nightmarish fairytale. I'm really quite taken by your Dark!Bagman--he's ever so creepy.

Oh, thank you! I'm so glad to see a few comments: it's always terrifying stepping outside the Marauder comfort zone. It's great you liked Bagman. I always feel he's one of JKR's ambiguous characters, and could easily turn out to be on the dark side after all.

Wow. Yeah, it's like a really dark, haunting fairytale, where Bellatrix's fate is sweetly terrible. Such an original idea and brilliantly written,

Thank you! Even though I got this one wrong, as far as the challenge was concerned, I was pleased to get a chance to do the pairing. It couldn't have been a light fic, and I'm glad you thought it was okay.

I love this story! It's so creepy, but realistic as well. I'm so happy that you decided to post this after all.

Oh God, I love this. I agree with whoever said it was like a fairytale - it's got that wonderful quality to it - and it's so dark and original. Love it. Your Bagman is so intruiging - when I saw the pairing I assumed this would be a crack!fic, but this is amazen.

I really can't pick a favourite quote, but I did smile when I read:

‘I could be court jester,’ Bagman burbles hopefully, trotting a few paces behind as Bellatrix lengthens her stride. ‘I’m good at making people laugh, what?’

Thank you! :)

I was actually assigned the pairing for my cq_roundtable auction fic, and this was what came out. When I realised I'd done it all wrong, I wrote a rather lighter story for the actual challenge and kept this one for me. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

This is so very creepy, I love the fairytale moteif and how you put Bellatrix into the weaker role. It's something we're not used to seeing at it was very effective as was how everyone still keapt calling her Mrs. Lestrange despite the fact she'd married Ludo. And Voldemort and all his slaves - I loved that little hint and the way it all seemed so oppulent, and so unruled. Fantastic!

*cuddles poor dead Rodolphus*
Rab wants to know if he's dead too. *worries about him*

Thank you very much! When I started writing this, I didn't have a clue how it would turn out, and I was quite surprised when Bella was suddenly the loser: she's such a winner, really, and I was surprised she could be so weak. I'm really glad you enjoyed it.

Oh, no, Rab's not dead! He's living as a Muggle in London: he runs a branch of the RSPCA, finding homes for stray kittens, and keeps a lot of them himself. I'm sorry about Rodolphus, but he died quite heroically, and without any pain.

He would as well! His house would be over-run with them. Well, Rodolphus had to die at some point and at least it was painless.
