With all the controversy about reviews and comments at the moment, I decided to prepare a little guide of my own. Hope it will be helpful!

Apparently, I miss all the good stuff. *g*

But thank you for the handy guide! I'm going to print it out, laminate it, and hang it on the wall just above my computer. I shall never be confused again!

*hugs*

Oh dear, okay. I have never put that much thought into how I respond to comments or what kind of comments to fic I leave. I just, you know, do it. *g*

Ha! I now have to answer comments and put my own advice into play... :D

Seriously, thank you for the feedback! I'm so glad you're going to find it useful.

I love this, I really do. I'm just giddy when I receive comments, but when I receive flames, I like leaving it for everyone to see! xD

Yay! Thank you! :) I do leave unfavourable comments, obviously, but really nasty stuff goes. I've only ever had one nasty anonymous comment on LJ, though, but there's always time for more. :D

I don't get flames for my writings, but I get them when I post fandom stuff. Haha. xD

Wow. Someone actually said something nasty to you? What the hell? .___.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart, Minnow. Now I am fully armed to tackle the gamut of this perilous fandom world. It is people like you that help me through.

I thank you for your appreciation of this advice, distilled over the past two hours two years. :)

Lol! :D

No... I kid. You just about made my day with that. And why does somebody always find angsty fics hilarious?

LOVE the icon, by the way. I cringe at those nicknames as well.

Thank you! :D I actually had a comment from someone saying that they found Sirius's death in a fic quite funny, and was that wrong? It was quite a light fic, but not THAT light. :D

OH MY GOSH. I'm glad it's not just me. I actually read this heartbreakingly angsty story... Ginny is about to be raped by Death Eaters, Draco can't seem to find the humanity left inside him to protect her, but then he does, and we think he's killed for it.

So then I review, say how brilliant and heart rending it is and once I've posted I read the reviews below me "GUH! This is SO sweet! :)" and "This was adorable!"

I wanted to know if they accidentally read the wrong story or if they had any of the stuff they were on to share. ;)

I chalked it up to being a silly 15 year old fangirl... but if they're doing it in your ship... it's probably more than just the silly fangirls! ;)

I really liked the scene where Remus and Sirius go to see the pyramids, but I didn’t quite understand how they got the camel to let go of the diamond.

Please tell me this is a real fic. I really, really need something like that today. :D

This is brilliant, btw. Another favourite neutral comment of mine is the one that says nothing positive or negative, like, "Oh, Remus..."

And then you have to decide if the right answer is "Thank you!" or "Sorry you didn't like it." ;)

Heh. I tell you, there's no reading between the lines, or over-interpretation will kill you. "Oh, Remus?" They're left speechless. Negative feedback? They respected you enough to object. No feedback? You're ahead of the curve. *smile*

Minnow, brilliant. I think the first time we talked I was leaving somewhat tactless concrit, and you handled it beautifully. *blushes with shame* I'm not fooled by the humor here. M.

Thank you! That sent me back to my Inbox, I have to say... I certainly don't remember anything less than wonderful from you, though you did ask why I didn't like Remus's moustache! I thought it was a very civil discussion all round. Nobody got hurt or anything. :D

I had to answer this one... :D Firstly, thank you! :D

Please tell me this is a real fic. I really, really need something like that today.

Sadly, it isn't a real fic, but it could be. Give me just ONE tiny bit more work and I'll really get into procrastination.

I've never had an 'Oh Remus'-type comment, and in fact have it in reserve as part of a parody. But I totally agree: it's the ultimate cop-out, isn't it? What do you say? 'Well, yeah, he just didn't see that plane falling from the sky on to his head'. It's a sort of 'Doh!' comment, though seriously, the 'Oh, Italic,' has always struck me as very complimentary.
