Wow! I *so* did not see that coming! I thought for sure John Cooley was involved (he totally creeped me out in Demonology!)! I'm glad Dave and Emily have been reunited and I can stop sitting on the edge of my seat. There are so many lovely parts in this chapter.

On the verge of barking that she's Emily's mother not his, he stops cold at the quirk of an eyebrow that, either genetic or learned, her daughter does equally as well. Instead, he swallows at the thickness in his throat and mumbles, "Yes, ma'am."

I loved this image! Very believable!

All damp skin and big eyes, she's laughing, a low, sexy sound, and she flicks water at him. He drinks her in, afraid to touch. She's too beautiful to touch.

Oh, Dave. This just about broke my heart.

He swallows, hoping to push the lump in his throat away, but there's no room for it, his chest is too full of his heart, so the word comes out raspy and shaky when he replies, "Hey ( ... )

Thank you so much! You leave the best comments!

I knew I was tipping my hand with the title of the story, but was hoping it wouldn't be obvious who the unsub was.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting. I REALLY appreciate it.

OMG I KNEW IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE MATTHEW BENTON CASE! I had totally pegged John Cooley for the one who had showed up on her doorstep though.

Ming, you did it again, you had me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath. I confess, I totally skimmed the first time because I had to know if they were going to find her there and if she was going to be okay.

Dave's heartache at the 24 hour mark from waking up alone was so visceral. Maybe the worst part of this is all of their personal knowledge, and his horrible fear that at some point one of them would break, one of them would say, "We have to give our attention to something else." Because they never would...but then they would have to...and they would never stop looking...but not looking 24-7 is so unacceptable. You capture that sick-making terror so well.

That horrible awful Mrs. Benton. I honestly am glad Matthew's father felt so guilty over it. (Especially because I've been reading The Rite by Matthew Baglio about real-life exorcists, and I know now just how far ( ... )

I fangirl you right back.

I knew I was tipping my hand with the title of the story, but I kept thinking about how Andrea Benton would see the story as a mother, how each story has a different perspective.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading and leaving such wonderful, wonderful, wonderful comments. I appreciate it so much. I hope you like the way the story ends.

This was utterly fantastic. I read this earlier at work and it was the first time I was glad I had some time left so I could read this. Another great, great update. I really enjoyed the beginning with the short scenes. And I could really feel Dave's desperation as time went on with no clues. I also really liked the scene where Elizabeth forces Dave to eat. That was a good touch.

Thank you for the update. I really liked this!

Thank you so, so much. Your comments mean the world to me.

I really enjoyed the beginning with the short scenes. And I could really feel Dave's desperation as time went on with no clues.

Thank you so much! We were worried it was going to come across as rushed.

I could see Elizabeth detesting Rossi, but if they met in a crisis situation I bet they would find their love for Emily common ground.

Thanks so much for always being so supportive.

Oh, that was a fabulous plot for the kidnapping. I love the way it all comes together. Emily making them take a photo was great also. I'm glad she's alive and reunited with Rossi and the team. I'm looking forward to the next part already!
