Oh! This is SO what I needed today, and I know I've flailed all over the Valentine 'verse more times than I can remember, but GOD, I love this. It's wonderful to read it not in chronological order, because we know what's going to happen next and having that hanging there makes it hurt so good.

and the thing is, i don't think i could have written it in chronological order, even if i'd tried (well, if i'd tried, i'd still be hung up on the season 7 jack-and-daniel story that comes even before the post-season-8 sam-and-daniel story from a few weeks ago, and we would have NEVER GOTTEN HERE, so it's a good thing i DIDN'T try) -- and writing it out of chronological order has given me so much more to work with, seeing the holes that need filling in, and so on and so forth. i'm glad this makes you flail, hon -- thank you so much. ♥
