5. The song that's been stuck in my head for three days now, that I thought I had stolen some time ago but cannot find. "I think it's called "Baby I'm Ready to Go." It is by somebody. "From the rooftop, shout it out...."
4. "Six Underground," the Sneaker Pimps. They have some other cool stuff, but this is the only thing that even did anything.
3. "Tubthumping," Chumbawumba. Proof that two chords played loud enough are all a drinking song really needs.
2. "Feed the Tree," Belly. Far, far, far from my favorite Tanya song, but the only thing that anybody (who isn't me) would remember.
1. "No Myth," Michael Penn. He's been everywhere, but hasn't been heard of as a name to most of the world since 1999. Damn pity -- it's a hell of an album.

someone i know refuses to dance to "tubthumping", and now i can't remember who. sid, maybe, or loud bill. i, however, am terribly fond of it, and refuse to be embarrassed by my fondness. it's crap, but it's entertaining crap!
Clearly, clearly - the missing song from your top ten is Chesney Hawkes - I am the one and only? Clearly! (right click, save as, people else I shall be forced to eat someone's eyeballs. Cough.)
top, five. sheesh. The brain, she fails to work as I managed to post that before finishing as well.
1. Clearly, as original comment stated - I am the one and only by Chesney Hawks. 2. For cheesetasticness, All-4-One's I Swear. 3. Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit Of…). Whic gets my ass moving. :g: (um, if anyone has the mp3....) 4. The Rembrandts - I’ll Be There For You. Ah, Friends, back when it was good! 5. Nena - "99 Red Balloons". There are no words. Really.
so did my husband and I still use it against him. He raised an eyebrow at my buying the second season of MacGyver and all I had to do was hum and he shut up!
1) "Everything Falls Apart" by Dogs Eye View - I love this song. A forgotten 90s favorite.
2) "Bust a Move" by Young MC - LOVE. I still know all the words to all the verses, and impressed/scared my cousins at the wedding I went to in July by singing along to the whole thing.
3) "Romeo's Tune" by Steve Forbert - ok, technically on the folk charts, he's probably had more than 1 hit, but this is the only song anyone knows. And it's delightful.
4) "Axel F" by Harold Faltermeyer - oh, yeah. Great for peeling out of parking lots, driving around with your shades on, and blasting at top volume.
5) "Move This" by Technotronic - a strange choice, yes, but I found it on some old MTV Party To Go cd I bought in 8th grade, and it's still awesome. It's a great walking to work song.
1. Wicked Game--Chris Isaak He's put out about 10 albums, I have tickets to his Houston concert in September (Row K on the floor! Yeah!) and all anyone remembers is "...and IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII don't want to fall in love..."
2. The Mummer's Tale by Loreena McKinnett (sp?) It came out in 1998, was a dancy Irish thing and was used as the opening credits music for a short lived UPN western that I was an extra on for four episodes. Featured a young and yummy Sean Maher as the bad guy.
3. Ice, Ice Baby. Bitch, please.
4. Black Horse and the Cherry Tree--KT Tunstall Take it from me, the rest of her CD sounds NOTHING like this song, and that is really too bad.
5. Walking in Memphis--Mark Cohn Sure, people use his "True Companion" as a wedding song, but this guy is super talented and no one heard from him again after "Memphis." Except on the new country version cover, where he sings backup.
Chris Isaak, as far as I'm concerned, is TOTALLY not a one-hit wonder. And just for argument's sake, everyone I know who has KT Tunstall's album (myself included) loves the whole thing. Especially since "Black Horse and Cherry Tree" is the second single released in the U.S. off that album, I'd say she's not really a one-hit wonder. Not that I think she's amazing or the Next Big Thing or anything, but she's got some skills, and at worst is more of a Two-Hit Wonder.
well there are five points at least.oh_peccadilloAugust 17 2006, 17:48:49 UTC
a) i was going to do the one last week back last week, but then i forgot, and i can't feel any one hit wonders right now, so check out the beat in this one into the nada - karl blau. makes me want to... tango? that or make a short student film wherein people tango

but you're right, that's the only song most people know of his. (and you're right about isaak, too, sadly. he deserves better than that, yo.)

Just my own two cents. ;)
