1) Grilled cheese, which I had for lunch.
2) Mashed potatoes, which my friend had for lunch.
3) Really good cereal, like Cinnamon Life (my current drug of choice).
4) Cheese. Does it matter what kind? No.
5) Low-fat chocolate milk, in the little Milk Chug. OMG, this is the second-best thing EVER.
6) Strawberry milk, in the little Milk Chug. THIS is the best thing EVER.

For me, comfort food almost always has dairy involved.

sometimes when i'm depressed i eat pre-shredded mozzarella cheese straight from the bag, so i understand the dairy thing 100%.

This is such a good list on a day like today because it is pouring rain and I'm staring at the pile of work I have due in the next week and trying really hard not to cry/kick a hole in my window.

1. Cheetos. The crunchy kind. Partly because there is, like, nowhere on campus to get them and so I have to hike all the way out to the Hill and get them in the convenience store there, and getting out of my room and going on a walk has occasionally had good results re: my mood, but also because (this is gross) I really like scraping that cheese-dust residue off my fingers with my teeth.

2. Anything from the Dinosaur BBQ. I associate that restaurant with my dad, and my dad with being comfortable and happy. Also, the waitresses are sassy.

3. Grilled cheese sandwiches with yellow american cheese on white bread when someone else has made them, because I always somehow manage to fuck them up like nobody's business. (Also, I am Casey McCall. I eat them while listening to Afternoon Delight.)

4. Omlettes. When I played softball in high school, I ( ... )

more than 5. Hey, I'm Southern, I cannot limit it to just 5.
  1. Sunday Dinner - it is a cheat but true. Sunday dinner, that whole meal: jello salad, cranberry salad, fruit salad, salad, fried okra, succotash, squash casserole, macaroni pie, dressing, mashed potatoes, rice, gravy, turkey, ham, rolls, coconut cake, apple & caramel cake. The act of preparing it, just seeing the table covered in Sunday Dinner is a comfort not to mention eating it.
  2. Okra & Tomatoes - I either make my own or my gran makes it. no one else's count.
  3. fried fish - not just any fried fish but fried fish bought on the side of the road, fried for you on the spot in a giant cast iron pot. Served on top of two slices of white bread & with vinegar & hot sauce liberally poured of the top of the fish
  4. Boiled Peanuts - bought off the side of the road, from the peanut man in the market in Charleston, or from Cromers. Best from the first two on the list. Still warm from the pot & the sun and just perfectly salty & wonderful.
  5. muscadines & scuppernogs - The sticky sweet smell that ( ... )
