christopher fry, who wrote the lady's not for burning (one of my all-time favorite plays, thanks in no small part to its role in tam lin), died over the weekend. he was a tremendous playwright who - in my humble opinion - never received the respect or acclaim he deserved, and the world is poorer for his death ( Read more... )

I remember getting ready to leave my job last year before heading off to grad school. I counted down the months via post-it and then the last four weeks. That was a great feeling.

Good Grief! I didn't even know he was till alive!

(If you ever ever see a vhs or dvd version of The Lady's Not For Burning with Kenneth Branaugh and Cherie Lunghie BUY IT either for yourself (and send me a copy) or for me and I'll pay you back, I have it on audio but my parents taped over it dammit.)
