Fandom-heavy today. That's how life goes.

Fic Recs:
+ Shagging Harmony Kendall, by indri. Angel. Spike/Harmony. NC-17, spoilers for "You're Welcome". I'm not sure if this story is reassuring or utterly chilling, but whichever one it is, it's very honest, very smart, and has a little twist at the end that made my throat close up. Yay for Day After Tomorrow! I love apocalypic and post-apoc movies and stories. Plus my friend is an extra in the movie. I hope the results of the contest are posted for us all to read!

There are already a few stories linked from here.

I'm very much looking forward to the movie. I love a good disaster flick. :)

I am the very model of a modern silent reader. Mostly because I refuse to get any more involved in fandom than a nightly read. I like the stories, I don't like the universe they play out in, so I keep my head down, enjoy my fic and move on.

Furthermore, I would so have sex with Benicio del Torro in an elevator, or anywhere else he saw fit to do so.

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean by this - you don't like fandom culture and therefore don't want to get sucked in by posting in relationship to anything fannish?

I'm not criticizing here, mind you. Just trying to understand what you mean. I don't post as much feedback as I should because I'm lazy, but I'm pretty sure that's not what you're saying.

You've nailed it. Fandom culture sorta scares me (where sorta=leaves me huddled up in a corner crying for my mommy) and I don't want to get sucked in by posting in relationship to anything fannish. I know there are those out there (like most who post here) who aren't scary, but I just tend to avoid the lot of it.

Yay! For Elevator Story, first SN fiction I ever read, knowing nothing at all about the series. Best introduction ever!

I'd somehow managed to miss that one until just now; I've read everything else Caroline Baker's written in the fandom, but not this one. What a great story. :)

The weird thing is, I can't remember where I found it but it wasn't with any other SN fic. And I did a Google search for SN slash and came up with almost nothing. It was a good few months before I came across anything else in the fandom.

It's not my *favourite* story, but it's up there in the top 5 or so and it was a damn good introduction to the series.

Btw, have I said thank you recently for indirectly (mainly!) convincing me to buy the DVDs?

Aw. No need to thank me, sweetie. I'm just doin' my job. *grin*

(My favorite piece of SN fic is "Where Have You Gone, Tom Glavine", followed in a close second by "Go Thy Way, Daniel".)

You did know about this, didn't you? They had an ad during Angle. Christian Kane will be there, and his band's playing the Pickwick on (I think) Saturday night. Advance tickets available through Ticketmonster.

Um, that'd be (last night's) Angel.

Yep, I knew. But after the trip to Toronto, I just can't afford to go, sadly. Some of my friends are going and they've promised full reports, though. :)

And thank you for thinking of me. *hug*
