Touched Y/N?

Okay, I've got to ask because I've heard about it on other people's blogs and on news sites and even from my freaking parents... Susan Boyle. Am I seriously the only one who didn't start weeping and having a life changing experience upon hearing her sing? I mean, she's a good singer, and if she were at my karaoke night, I'd cheer nice and loud. But ( Read more... )

I think she did well, and I was surprised, and happy for her that she gets to go back to the village and tell the men where to shove it, BUT...like you, I wasn't to the point of tears. nowhere near, actually, lol.

Yeah, I wish her the best but... it was still surprising to hear about her so much. According to my relatives in Scotland, it's probably bigger news in the states than over there.

lol, it's probably because of Simon's reaction to her...he's not exactly known for being a sweetheart, or giving someone a resounding 'Yes!', and he pretty much said she was 'outstanding', so...yeah XD;;

plus, you know our obsession with the ugly duckling type stories:P

I wish her the best, seriously I do... but I am SOOOO sick of hearing about her... my mother won't even shut up about it either DX So yes I definitely agree with you that I wasn't in the point of tears and my mom thinks that "oh let it be a lesson to not judge a book by its cover" which is something I already knew! *headdesk* Anyway, I won't bore you anymore lol

Personally, I feel that all of the "don't judge a book blah blah" news is getting to be too much. Like, holy crap! People can sing even if they don't look like Hollywood celebrities! It's a shocker!

Yeah, I watched it after the internet exploded and was like "well, that was good, I guess". I think opera-singing-postman or whatever his former occupation was from a few years back was much more impressive than what she did.

But I saw Colm Wilkinson do Les Mis when I was a kid, so I'm kinda spoiled for Webber musicals for the rest of my life. -_-;

Totally with you on HBP, although I don't remember the book being nearly as exciting as the movie seems to be...I'll have to go back and re-read it. Glad to hear that you're getting it at the same time as the rest of us. Or is Japan just going to fire up their time machine on the 17th and go four months into the future when it's actually supposed to come out? XD

HBP was probably my favorite book, although admittedly because it wasn't action based. For me, this was the all-important "humanizing" part of the tale, in which they took a break from action and fighting and explored what exactly they're fighting against. In any case, I'm very excited. ^_^

Meh. I pretty much agree with everyone above.

The first time I saw the HP trailer with Harry screaming "FIGHT BACK YOU COWARD!" I was seriously screaming and had tears coming out of my eyes. I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

I'm in Japan now - where are you going to see it at? If you don't mind me asking... I'm in the Tokyo area -- I'll probably go to Kichijoji. If you're in the area, we should see it together!! I need someone else to geek out with.

Does Japan do midnight showings? >.>

Japan doesn't seem to have a lot of midnight showings, but I'm not really sure, as I'm not a midnight showing girl myself. (I need sleep, like, at the same time every night. If not, I get super cranky and very bitter towards the world. ^_^) I'll probably be going with my friend John on Saturday morning in Shinjuku. If you don't have anyone else to go with, feel free to tag along. ^_^
