Totally INSANE Knitting Project!!
I've been wanting to try my hand at knitting for a while now. And since I'm rather unsatisfied with my current scarf I figured why don't I make my own? That's pretty basic. I'll even make it ridiculously long becuase I really want a super long scarf. Oh! Why don't I make it nerdy too.....?

The Fourth Doctor's scarf from Doctor Who. You can't get longer or nerdier than that!
So after spending hours Tuesday night at these two sites entirely dedicated to the scarves of the Fourth Doctor I decided to make the original season 12 scarf before it got shortened and modified.
Yesterday I went and bought my yarn and a couple pairs of needles becuase I have no idea what type I prefer. I've never knitted anything before. I'm a COMPLETE AND TOTAL NOOB!
And so I started around 7:30pm trying to figure out what the heck I'm doing using YouTube videos and tips from the DW scarf sites mentioned above. I practiced with some blue yarn and tried out both needle types. And after about 2 and half hours I had two rows done. My mom saw it sitting on the table and started knitting the third row.

WTF!?
She knew how to knit all this time!?
I could've just asked her to help me this entire time!?
I've never seen her knit anything before!! D:<
My mom is just full of surprises... apparently she also knows needle-point. I would have never guessed.
So yeah. After playing around with my practice one I started the real deal. I've screwed up in a few places. :( One stitch is in the totally wrong place and there are two little holes becuase I missed a stitch and didn't realize it until later. I'm still learning so I'm not too upset by this. I'll just say it's battle worn. XD I do wish I knew how to fix the holes though...

I'll occasionally make progress updates. This will probably take forever and ever so I'll need some moral support at some points through this insanity. WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF!?
