well, i'm back from the trip to yakima. the drive up was nice, both legs of it were full of great conversation. the funeral was strange, it was a regular mass, but at communion, only like 5 members of the family went up besides me. that's 5 out of about 30, no other of my dad's siblings raised their kids catholic. there also was almost no crying at

I think the Communion-skipping is a pretty commonplace thing. I've seen it a lot, I'd guess a lot of people who were raised RC are either disenchanted with it, or are hung up on the idea that you have to attend regularly/give confession before you can take the Eucharist.
The visiting sounds nice though, I'm glad you got to see your relatives... and good luck w/ the pup!

eh, i ignore that particular hang-up. i'm confirmed, so i have no qualms about having communion whenever. i think the only time i EVER went to confession was during my "first reconcilliation" thinger. haha. it's not as though god wouldn't know what i have done and whether or not i am sorry for it....

it was nice to see the cousins! didn't get the dog though, i couldn't find anyone to go with me and so someone else adopted her. A 9-MONTH COCKAPOO! NO FAIR! *wants*
