...Shion? Mm, now that -is- convenient... And housed with Allen no less? But either way, I needed to pass a message on to him, and...from what he says, you ought to be included as well anyway.

[There's a sigh and the audible sound of a forehead hitting a palm.]

White hair, purple eyes, Rubedo's brother...

And you... call him Darling? Did I miss something?

[Her tone is measured and flat, very carefully kept even, mostly because she knows it will become an unholy rant if she lets herself get emotional here.]

I am starting to realise that this is apparently a difficult concept for people. No, you didn't miss anything. Albedo Piazzolla is my Darling and I call him that because I love him. Our relationship is mutual.

[There's a bit of movement noise--she takes her glasses off and pinches the bridge of her nose.]

[There's a very long pause on Shion's end of the phone, as she apparently has understood that tone just the faintest bit. She then ventures a question.]

So, he treats you well then? He always hurt people where I came from, except for Jr. He really loved Jr., because they were brothers, but he seemed so intent to hate everyone else. Like they were below him.

That depends on your definition of 'well'...he -hurts- /me/... [She sighs and goes back to the measured monotone.]

We have a mutually pleasing relationship. My definition of 'pleasing' is deviant to the socially accepted 'normal'. Our opinions on the nature and worth of society are similar, and for similar reasons.

My definition... I meant...

[Shion pauses for a moment, as if thinking silently about something. She then begins to speak again.]

Well, I meant the most bare meaning of does he treat you well. Does he take your feelings into consideration? Does he listen to you? Things of that nature.

You see, the Albedo I knew always treated people with disregard. So it's rather... surprising to hear him spoken of with such love by a person who isn't his brothers. But then, it's also strange for him to be alive.

[Theta's getting a bit snippy.] He treats me far better than the bare minimum of 'well'. He treats me =exceptionally= and considers my feelings -far- more than any other being I have known barring only those beings that I have =made= myself by hand.

[Trying to get back under control, she takes a deep breath and lets it out as a hiss.]

I am not some mindless needlepoint sewing woman who sits around discussing the advantages of marrying for money as opposed to marrying for actual regard for each other. I am an -ergaleomancer- I think I am entitled to being regarded as having a brain in my head. I am under -no- obligation to be in a relationship at =all= if it wasn't something I thought was good and worth it to me.

What did he =do= that you people are so incredulous that I might actually find worth in him as a person? ...No, don't answer that. I'll ask him myself.

[She's started crying just from the emotionality of it.Do you think I'm so stupid as to not even know that there is such a thing as a bad relationship? The things I ( ... )

I'm sorry...

[Shion says the words silently. There is an unseen shake of her head after those words.]

I want you to know I don't mean Albedo is incapable of love. I know he can love very dearly. If he couldn't, he never would have tried to save Gaignun from their father, or have been so upset when he learned of his immortality when neither of his brothers had such power. However, I have never seen him love someone else than them.

Whenever he spoke about people where I came from, he spoke as if he was above us all. He killed merely to do so. That's why it that I imagine so many of those of us who know him have reacted with such shock.

Has he changed from that in his time here? If so, I can imagine he could be very caring, much like he was when he was a child.

People such as him and I -are- above society. Meaningless morals and ideas of 'normality' that do nothing more than hold people back and pin people down.... The things Allen says about you, I would have thought you would understand ( ... )

I never thought of Albedo as anything other than a man! This isn't about his background as a URTV. I could care less about that, you know? Jr.'s an URTV, MOMO's a Realian, Ziggy is a Cyborg, chaos akin to a god, but I never thought of any of them as anything other than another being ( ... )

[Theta is ranting about society in general--she's not upset with Shion personally so much as she is upset by the fact that =everyone= has expressed shock about her feelings for Albedo. The straw has broken the camel's back and Theta continues to rant and cry.How can you expect him to respect a society that would do that to him?! How can you expect him to make distinctions in people that have no more difference to each other than a flock of sheep? He sees a difference in me--I am not a =sheep ( ... )

[Theta's calmed down from her rage, finally, but she's still very passionate about what she's saying. What good does feeling guilty do? If you do something for the right reasons and it turns out to have been the wrong course of action...you might feel guilty for the -harm- it caused but there's no sense in feeling guilty for what you've =done=. It's a semantical argument and I know, but if you take away the intent behind it then that suffering becomes -meaningless ( ... )

Guilt proves you're human. Regretting taking a life, whether you see it for a good purpose or not, shows that your have a conscious. That's why I say what I say. For me, I can't imagine taking a life, any life, without regretting the harm it may cause to those who knew that person. If I didn't feel that regret, I wouldn't be me; I wouldn't be human ( ... )

[Theta sighs, calming down enough to let Shion get through to her, finally.]

He's not -human- though. As much as he's a man...there are basic differences between humans and clockworks...humans and URTVs... I'm not saying... [She sighs, finding it hard to find words.] What I mean is that ( ... )
