Back by the lake, near a copse of trees, there is a ripple in the Force. Well, perhaps a bit more than a ripple. Qui-Gon is practicing forms while meditating. It's not as strange as it seems. His 'sabre flashes with its characteristic green light as he moves through various positions, defensive maneuvers, and forms. He's definitely disturbable, ( Read more... )

Of course Jedi can't practice all the time. That's what tinkering with mechanics is for!

Anakin wanders outside, drawn by the Force ripple, fiddling with a small metallic ball covered in transparent panels.

"Having fun?"

Turning, and shutting off his 'sabre, Qui-Gon smiles at the other Jedi. "I would say so. 'Sabre practice has always been oddly comforting." He regards Anakin. "You seem quite comfortable. What sort of dress is that?"

"I find 'sabre practice to be the best form of meditation."

He glances down at his clothes. "There an Earth style. Something called a T-shirt and jeans. There really are comfortable, actually."

"Yes. There's something about the fluidity of the 'sabre movement, the grace of the forms which focusses meditation." He pauses for a moment. "Perhaps the first Jedi were on to something when they created 'sabres to go along with the meditation." Then again, Qui-Gon was never one to sit still under any circumstances.

"It would seem so. Perhaps the Bar could provide me with some of those clothes sometimes." He eyes his robes dubiously. "Robes can be rather hot sometimes."

Lots of people practice sword fighting out here.

But Qui-Gon's the first Svava's seen with a sword of light. She watches, staying back out of a respect for anyone swinging an unknown weapon around. Half-hidden in the shadows under a couple of the trees, though to a Jedi she's probably painfully obvious. No mere mortal here, either.

He finishes the form he is working on, then turns off his 'sabre, looking toward the trees. "You can come out, miss. I will not harm you." He smiles, curious as to his onlooker.

"I wasn't thinking you would; I just know better than to interrupt someone in the middle of a practice. Specially when I don't know what it is they have." A shrug and faint smile as she steps out.

"Good evening."

He smiles. "It is called a lightsabre, and it is the weapon of the Jedi Knights of my universe. We are trained to use it in defence, never in offence." Well, ideally at any rate. He bows graciously. "I am Qui-Gon Jinn, Jedi Knight."

Daemon's watching curiously. The light attracted his attention, and he's rather fascinated by the entire spectacle. He doesn't say anything, though, as a long ago brush with an Eyrien war blade had taught him not to interrupt anyone at weapons practice were it not a life-or-death situation.
