Ever-present and ever-inquisitive, a little fairy perches high in rafters. She watches the lady in the pointy hat at work. It looks a lot more interesting than most of the silly serious stuff which has been going on recently ( ... )

Esk covers the bowl of powder with her hand to protect it from foreign substances and looks up curiously at the observer.

Another fairy? She can only hope it's as benevolent as Tiki, and hopefully a little more sensible.

"Hi," she says, smiling in what she hopes is a friendly, welcoming way.

The frog, meanwhile, burps and turns into a ceramic pig, with a slot in the back.

"Hello," she jingles back softly. "Why did that frog just turn into a pig?"

She's not being impolite. Introductions are for big people and they aren't always the first thing on her mind.

"Because it's halluncinating that it's a pig," Esks explains. "which means that at least the dosage isn't fatal." She unscrews one of the vials and adds a tiny amount of the contained powder to the bowl, stirring thoroughly.

Barry comes into the Bar. He has the oddest look on his face. He sees Eska and comes to her. He barely notices the frogs.

"Hi."

"Hi Barry," Eska says, seemiingly distracted, before looking up to see his expression.

"What's wrong?" she asks, suddenly concerned.

He sits and leans in close.

"Remember that plan to talk to the Other? Well, Tim and I did it. And...

"It was a disaster. Worse than a disaster." He sighs and braces himself.

"The Other is destroying London." His voice is very controlled but it conceals a rage no one has seen in a long time.

Eska stares. She has no idea what London is, but her friend's tone is enough.

"Wow, I'm sorry, Barry."
