The back door opens, admitting a rush of cold air and a troll catgirl wrapped in furs.

Pretty soon she's arranged the furs into a heap on the floor by the fire, and is stretched out on top of them with her tablet and a starfish sandwich and a mint chocolate milkshake.

(OH MY GOG HOW ARE MILKSHAKES SO DELICIOUS

Because, just once is a while, the benevolent spirits get one over on the opposition.

Ako, on the other hand, has no milkshake but a hot chocolate with plenty of whipped cream and a paper book of how to try and keep people from dieing.

Nepeta looks up when she smells hot chocolate, and brightens at the sight of a human she recognizes.

"Hi Ako!"

"Hi Nepeta," says Ako, "How have you been?"

[nepetaleijon]

"I'm purretty good," she says happily. "How about you?"

William's also by the fire and reading a book, but keeps glancing at Nepeta, he's never seen anyone who looks quite like her.

And he's not likely to, either, outside of Milliways.

She doesn't seem perturbed by his glances.

"What are you eatin', miss?" It looks so pointy.

[nepetaleijon]

"A starfish sandwich," she says cheerfully. "Want a bite?"

Milkshakes are all right, sure. Coffee is better.

At least, that's what Gaeta's (mostly) contented expression seems to be telegraphing from his own spot near the fire, where he has both hands wrapped around a steaming ceramic mug. His hair looks a little damp, although it's drying fast.

(No hot water for the next four days, and no shift for the next three hours, means he's all right with taking a little time to thaw out in Milliways after a shower.)

The sandwich is finished, and Nepeta rolls onto her back in the fur pile and stretches contentedly.

And looks at her tablet again, this time holding it overhead and poking at the screen with one fingertip.

...Huh.

The girl gets a curious look, but no more curious than the look he gives the tablet. It seems slightly more in line with...well, perhaps not Galactica's tech, considering her age, but tech he grew up with.

And, of course, it's being held by a troll catgirl.

Er.

She tilts her head to one side, and catches sight of the human grownup watching her.

And rolls up to a sitting position, blinking.

If Nepeta looks up, she'll spot Tyler waving excitedly the shellphone in one hand and larger human adult sitting across the booth table from him. There's a couple of mugs and a half-finished dinner between them.

Nepeta does in fact look up and around, and spots Tyler pretty quickly.

She waves back and scrambles to her feet, captchaloguing her tablet and her heap of furs before she heads over.

(She's just carrying her milkshake, though.)

Huh. A catgirl. Cy's never seen one here before, which surprises him for some reason.

But she has a milkshake. That's always worthy of comment.

"Hey."

[nepetaleijon]

"... hi!"

He doesn't quite look like a grownup, but he's still one of the biggest humans she's ever seen.

And he has ROBOT PARTS.

"What kind of milkshake is that?" Something about her is vaguely familiar, but Cy isn't sure what.

[nepetaleijon]

"Chocolate mint," she says happily. "We don't have milkshakes where I come from! I'm trying to taste one of efury kind there is."
