Ellen doesn't have a T-Minus logon. She did, however, spot Alyx stumping into the corner to sit down, and so heads that way regardless.

"Hi, Alyx. I have some stuff for you."

"Oh, hey, Ellen." Alyx brightens considerably upon seeing her. "What 'stuff' are we talking about?"

"I got those mini-nukes I told you about, the ones from Fort Constantine," Ellen says, "and I've been making Nuka-Grenades. They're upstairs. There's a pretty fair quantity of them, too."

"Oh, you're making them? Our demo expert will be happy about that. He gets an eyetwitch whenever someone mentions those things..."

COE: What sort of opponents should your volunteers expect to face?
COE: "Biotechnologically enhanced alien" can cover a number of things.
COE: Also, as I don't know Mongolia, what type of terrain would be involved?

CAT: A high plateau region, pretty flat with little or no tree growth. Which means we won't have a lot of cover, but it also means we won't be crossing a desert or digging through a jungle, so count your blessings.
CAT: As for your first question... it *does* cover a number of things. The Combine's arsenal consists of dozens of different alien species they've taken from other worlds and co-opted for their own purposes.
CAT: A significant majority of the ones we're likely to face will be former humans.

COE: I see.
COE: What sort of enhancements and abilities would they have?
COE: I suspect from some things you've said that yours is not a world with much magic, but what sort of technology would we be facing?

CAT: Enhanced strength and speed, built-in armor plating, and a slew of sensory enhancements we still don't fully understand.
CAT: Their weapons are mostly dark-energy-based. They have automatic rifles that fire packets of dark matter that vaporize packets of flesh instantly. The alternate fire mode will vaporize a human-sized target.
CAT: That's in addition to conventional slug-throwers and grenades.
CAT: And there are liable to be plenty of other Synths, as well as the Advisors themselves.

Alyx might hear the clomping of combat boots coming her way, stopping just outside her booth.

"I'm in."

Because why tiptoe around it?

Alyx leans sideways a little to see Voodoo. "The SCUBA mission didn't scare you off, eh? Good to hear."

[boston_bruiser]

Voodoo snorts. "Fuck no. It ain't like they're vampires. End of the day, they die like everything else."

He slings his machine gun over his shoulder and leans against a nearby wall. "So what's the plan? What kinda defenses're we lookin' at?"

"The plan," says Alyx," is still in progress. It's going to depend on who signs up and what we find when we get to Mongolia. The one thing we know for sure? Is that this battle's going to be the hardest one yet, because the Combine know we're coming."
