They're floating somewhere near Santo at the moment, and Mal's high on the horse after a job that actually didn't have too many complications to it.
So he's in the bar like he totally has been forever and ever clearly and finding an honest-to-God ale at not quite 10 am.
What? It's fiber.

So does being well fed. Luna figures that, as long as she's here, she might as well have breakfast. It will still be before dawn when she gets back to Hogwarts.
Which means that there's a young witch (in very wrinkled clothes) sitting at the bar with a plate of waffles and strawberries. She offers the man a bit of a smile.
"Good morning."

Such blonde hair. So young. It throws Mal, for just a minute.

She couldn't quite say why she has decided to strike up a conversation with a stranger at the Bar. Except that it is likely the only opportunity she'll have for a normal conversation for a bit.
And then, he's alone as well. And perhaps he would like company.
"It's a lovely morning, isn't it?"

Vodka is a food group. A very very important food group.
"Perhaps, miss Bar, something... more?" She somehow ended up with a bowl of cereal, and this is Very Wrong. "Kolbasa, on black bread, it is good!"
The cereal stays put, stubbornly. The bangly blond girl refuses to eat it, stubbornly.
"And fruit?"
The requested sausage sandwich and an orange appear, replacing the cereal. The girl lights up, seizing on her new breakfast gleefully.
"Spasiba, miss Bar!"

"I think she has help - there is a doctor here who has taken an alarming degree of interest in my health." She confides, cheerfully.
Of course, considering said doctor had to piece her together from rags, she conceeds (at least in the privacy of her own head) that he may have a point.

A very good thing.
Dixie's tipping back a glass of wine as she eyes Mal from a seat away.

She can keep watching, for all that Mal cares.
But when it becomes obvious to them both that they can't avoid each other --
"Can I help you?"
