Atton is a firm believer in the concept of 'you snooze, you lose' and also in the concept of 'I have the power to steal from almost anybody in the bar, it would be rude not to use it'.

Which is why Will's second glass of whiskey is a little way down the bar in Atton's hand. There was no warning, just a rush of air and a brown blur.

"I'm saving you," Atton says plaintively, "from alcoholism."

Will sighs and glares at Atton,

"Aye, thank ye, order me another."

Atton downed Will's drink.

"Or, or, you could order me another. As thanks. For saving you."

Will taps the Bar and two whiskeys appear and an order of fried paradoxes,

"Thank ye, Lady Bar."

"What's up?" Guppy asks gently, sitting next to Will.

"Some days ye canna do 'nough without turnin' into those ye 'ate."

Guppy squeezes Will's shoulder.

"What happened?"

"Couldna get someone out o'a bad place cause couldna save 'is family."
