Munch is one of those people who doesn't go in for Father's Day. After all, if your father had made you the target of his constant physical and verbal abuse and then took the coward's way out by committing suicide, you wouldn't want to honor the man, either

"My father-" Ellen shakes her head. "Never mind. Long story. Can I get a beer, please?"

It's not like it was Father's Day on her side of the door.

Munch shrugs. "If he was anything like my dad, I don't blame you," he responds.

"One beer, coming up."

"Oh, he was a good father, he just spent nineteen years lying to me," Ellen says. "Among other things. How have you been?"

"Same old, same old," was the almost tired-sounding answer. "Still trying to make New York a better place, one perverted scumbag at a time."

[trigger_man]

Did someone say Daddy issues? 'Cause here's Jack, approaching the bar now that he's seen someone standing behind it.

Jack reads the specials board, stares at it for a moment with a twist of his mouth, then signals Munch.

Munch nods, wiping his hands on a convenient rag. "What can I get you?"

"Whiskey, thanks," Jack says with a nod. "Busy so far?"

"Not yet." He pulls out a glass and a bottle of whiskey, fills the glass and then slides it towards Jack. "But then, the night's still young."

Munch doesn't put the whiskey bottle away just yet, just in case.

Well, unless she is very behind on her gossip, the man in front of her is certainly not Hannah Abbott.

"Excuse me, sir?"

If he was, then he'd have one hell of a problem.

"Yes ma'am? What can I get for you?"

She stalls for a moment, not entirely sure of what she was going to say. Should she make some quip about remodeling or just come right out and ask the very stupid question that's on her mind.

"This isn't the Leaky Cauldron," she finally states.

Munch shakes his head. "No ma'am, it's not. This is Milliways, the Bar at the End of the Universe."
