Holding out her arm, she jogs her shoulder to urge him down onto it, where it will be easier for him to take off.
"You need to eat. I can't do it for you."

"Mission Top Secret, destination unknown," There's a grunt of exertion followed by another grunt and a thud.
"We don't know if we're ever coming home." Grunt, thud, grunt, and coming closer.
"Stand up, buckle up and shuffle to the door," Then there's finally the head and body of a nine-year old launching himself over one of the large rocks by the lake shore and landing a little badly on his ankles, instead of say, tumbling. "Jump right out and shout Marine...corps..."

And just continues frowning from there.
At this point, she's sitting back in the grass with the magazine, which is now folded on her stomach as Tyler comes leap-frogging into view.
"Tyler. What are you doing?"

"Oh, you mean the song?"

She's still eyeing him with a little frown. "Practicing for what?"

It is only fair.
"Rachel."
She takes two or three steps closer, flicking a quick glance toward the magazine.
"Hello."

So her smile is equally friendly and relieved when she spots someone else.
"X. Hey. How's it going?"

"Quiet."
She moves closer, dropping down into a crouch. This is in part because it is only fair, and in part because it is comfortable.
"You are okay, too?"

"Yeah, okay."
Aside from the Labyrinth, the effects of being gone a month, the state Tobias is in - and the knife she kept, but hasn't shown him.
