It's not often that this particular redheaded woman is seen in the bar with anything on the table in front of her other than a laptop, but there are apparently exceptions to all trends because today the laptop is closed and set to the side so that there's room for the massive plate of pasta in front of her. Nikita hadn't been back here in two weeks; a lot had happened in her own life. She'd thought she'd never see it again, since her original entry was back in D.C.

But surprise, surprise, walking into the walk-in closet in the suite she was sharing with Michael brought her here.

She stopped, checked her entry, and reassured, headed for the bar. "Hey." A nod to the red-headed woman, then Nikita's nose twitched. "That smells incredible."

"Hmmm." Nikita paused in eating for a moment, and studied Barbara. "Do you know any?"

"Magic?" Babs bursts out laughing. "Not me."

Nikita saluted her with her glass in amusement, then tilted her head. "So what's your line?"

"Former librarian turned freelance information specialist." Which is totally a valid way to put it!

[divisionrogue]

"So," Nikita drawled, spinning some spaghetti onto her fork, "if I wanted to find work through this bar, would you be the right person to ask?"

"Depends on the work, but I do know quite a few people." Babs shrugs as if that's no big deal.

"Security. Investigations." Nikita swallows, then takes a sip of her drink, eyes watching the wait-rats. "Anything legal. Anything illegal that's not too violent, for now." She didn't need the extra hassle, and more time to evaluate Milliways would come in handy.

Babs looks Nikita up and down again. "Para-military?" she asks.

"Formerly," Nikita says, her tone slightly reserved. "I can't exactly ask my former employers for references."

"Ah. One of those." She nods thoughtfully.

"What are you trained in?"

[divisionrogue]

"Martial arts, explosives, marksmanship. Infiltration, surveillance, first level computer work." Not the complicated hacking, but enough to do a basic search-and-find for information in a protected system, given time and code words. "Undercover work. Security driving." Nikita smiles, even if it doesn't quite reach her eyes. "I'd be willing to be a high-level chauffeur; I'm not picky."

Babs already has one of those, actually. But she smiles back. "Are you looking for something long-term, or more piece-meal work?"

[divisionrogue]

"Piece-meal. I have a long-term project," Nikita ducks her eyes to study her plate, carefully taking another bite of the very good sauce. "With a partner. But it'll require financing from time to time. Piece-work here should fill the gaps."

"That makes sense," Babs nods. "No one springs to mind off-hand as needing your skills, but I'll definitely keep an eye out."

She grins. "And you could always try putting a notice on the bulletin board."

[divisionrogue]

"There's a bulletin board?" Nikita says, amused. If someone mentioned that before, it got lost in all the other things she'd been doing the last few weeks. "'Good with guns, available for part-time work.' That should get a few checks."
