A door materializes in the Bar, swirling with images of snakes that play over the surface in two dimensions. A harbinger, perhaps ( Read more... )

A few tables into the bar, sits a man in spandex, his mask pulled back over his head to reveal his whole face and allow room to smoke, and also drink.

He's smoking. And also drinking.

And waiting to see if Asp and/or Diamondback will turn out to be here, after all. If nothing else, they're likely to be spandex-clad eye candy.

They don't turn out to be here - Mamba checks the room by walking a random circuit around the Bar, passing the fireplace, Bar proper, snaking between tables; her composure is hanging on by a thread. Cleo and Rachel would have told her if there was a bar in their freakin' basement.

Eventually she spots what she's sure is a another cape. It's Floyd's costume.

She makes her way over to him.

'Have you seen two smashingly beautiful snake-themed spandex-clad women' is not a conversation opener; she just wants to know what the here and now are.

Floyd's just won the lottery, because Mamba's heading his way. When she reaches his table, she waits a moment, then, in a tone not at all plaintive, asks the obvious question.

"Who put a bar in my basement? And have you seen a woman with pink hair?"

"Dunno," Lawton says as eh blows out smoke. "Some magic crap.

"Any particular woman? Cause there's the chick with the axe."

"You'd remember her, trust me."

She inquire about Asp, but Rachel is the one that registers most with strangers due to the acid bright hue to her hair.

"What does 'magic crap' actually mean in this context? In other words, where the hell am I?"

Mamba does not like unexpected physical contact with strangers. She whirls around and faces him, backing up a step. Not afraid, just wary and composed. He almost was treated to the full Black Mamba experience, and trust Mamba, he wouldn't enjoy it.

"Excuse me. You appear to not know where you're going."

"Woah..." he was speechless.

That costume.

"Whoa is right. Eyes up here, junior, or you'll lose them."

She does take the opportunity to zip up her costume a bit further. She's lucky she's not naked - she'd been at what passes for home when she found herself here.

Boys. So predictable. Makes them easy to deal with, actually.

"I don't think I've met anyone with snakes for names here," says Ako, "But there are all sort of people around if you look enough."

Well, here is a young woman who actually said something helpful and who knows her herpetology.

Mamba approaches closer.

"Have you seen a woman with bright pink hair?" she asks, noting that Rachel - Diamondback - would like Ako's hair.

"Sirona-san had pink hair but I haven't seen her since New Years," says Ako, "Are you looking for her?"

"No, I'm looking for a lady named Diamondback - and I don't think she knows you. Can you tell me where I am?"

Mamba doesn't mention that Rachel had pink hair before it was commonplace. Always the trendsetter.
