Once he got used to this whole "world" thing he's had to put up with, Cepheus has been a really easygoing baby. Or at least, his parents were able to handle everything he was figuratively throwing at them

Draco walked in, briefly glancing at the bar. Always seems different every time he stops by now. Different sort of people coming here too. But then he heard his son crying, and hurried to where his wife and child.
"Here now, what's with our Cepheus?" He reached down to touch his son's head, and glanced worriedly at Mia
"Draco," she says with a bit of relief. Always good to see her husband. "I'm not really sure. I've looked him over every way I can think of and he doesn't seem to be ill or needing anything in particular."
Cepheus rubs his little head against his mother.
"I've had him all day and he's been like this for the better part of it. Do you have any ideas?"
She holds Cepheus so that Draco can take him if he wants.
"We'll need to think of something," Mia says, putting her hand on her face. "We both have work tomorrow."
She thinks a bit as she watches Draco and Cepheus.
"I don't think anything spooked him, either. There was the other night when we were both outside but he seemed fine after that. And usually he's fine about that when he's got his toys but they haven't helped, either."
Mia pops it in her mouth and is surprised by the complete restoration. Had she known he was giving her the equivalent of a silverlight, she might have declined, knowing how precious they are.
But all things considered, she could probably use all the help she could get. A light touch like the spell she seeks for Cepheus needs more attention than one where she doesn't care how deep or how long her enemy sleeps.
She softly says, almost sings, the spell and Cepheus lightly dozes off.
"More of a sleep aid rather than a full sleep spell," she tells Axel. "This crying has been persistent today, so I don't want him completely knocked out in case whatever's causing it is still a problem. But until I can find any symptoms of it, there's not much else I can do."
"I don't know what's gotten into him but he's been fussing and crying for the better part of the day. He's not obviously sick so I don't really know what's going on."
"Want to swap a moment so I can take a look at him?" Guppy offers. "Sometimes it's tricky. Shufti said once her Jack bawled for four hours because there was a clothing tag itching him."

Well, he was. The kid's being a bit too noisy for him to properly concentrate.
He knows that anything he could possibly say will likely get him in trouble, so he just gives the struggling mum a very pained look.

She carefully moves the baby so that he's on her shoulder and hopefully a bit more muffled and he buries his tiny face into his mum.
"I'm sorry," she says, and she certainly looks it. "I'd use a silencing charm on my spot but I'm dead exhausted and out of starlights."

She might have already tried this, but he doesn't see any harm in trying.

Fortunately for Nick, the child's continued fussing has reduced some in volume, even if it hasn't ceased.
"He's a mystery to me tonight, it seems."

"Oh, no need to be sorry," the mother says. "I'm fairly certain it's not colic but I don't know beyond that."
She carefully moves Cepheus so that she's cradling him in a way to make it easier for Zhaan to see. Nothing obvious seems to be wrong.

"No idea, luv." He gathered the baby into his arms while his son whined and continued to fuss.
He rubbed his back a few times. Wasn't gas. Not wet, and his head felt normal.

"I'd be glad to but I'm dead exhausted and out of starlights."
She didn't exactly think she'd need to restock on her day off.
"Have you got an ether on you?"

Mia gives Cepheus a kiss and sets him down in there, though it's clear the kiss isn't making things better yet.
