A simple thing, really, seeing as how he left some ill gotten gain from a trip to another world hidden outside (don't ask where, since he's not telling). But just because he can pay doesn't mean he will. It's a matter of principle. What kind of pirate would he be if he paid

"Greetings," the Goth says, passing by, but stopping for a moment to find out what is the matter.

"You're...Teja, right?" He would hoist a cup in greetings, only...

"I am," Teja says. "And you are Gibbs, a god-fearing pirate from the world that gave us the Turners and Norrington, also. And the Caribbean inlet of the lake."

"Formerly of the inlet. More recently of the Caribbean proper." At least Teja seems well informed, for what that is worth.
