The nights on Serenity are getting longer and longer, the closer they come to Kaylee and Simon leaving. Or maybe it's the more Mal mutters under his breath, the less he talks to either leaving party, that makes it so long

Demeter frowns at her since she looks like she needs a hug so comes over with a plate of fresh made bread with homemade jam,

"You look like you need this, dear."

"Demeter, yes, I was quite angry about my daughter."

"Wo dong." Inara nods, solmenly staring at her tea.

"I'm lucky that my daughter is wiser than me and has found a happiness between me and her husband. Does he not trust the two who are leaving or is he just scared?"

"Scared, though he will never admit it." Inara smiles softly.

"Its not an easy thing to admit, but it won't go away by wishing."

[makesmeatease]

"He obviously needs to have a sit down with you."

[wheatencrown]

"If you can convince him to. I help things grow and also do a small amount of baking if that might be helpful."

"I'll see what I can do." Inara snorts, sipping at her tea. The image of Mal sitting down with Demeter is a good one.
