Off near the back of the Bar, where it won't be (too) loud, there is a large TV - about 50". There's a DVD player hooked up to it, and a box of DVDs. The DVDs include such classics as the entire Wednesday the 15th series, that modern masterpiece Rake, and Wendy the Werewolf Stalker - not the cool TV show but the craptastic film with Swanny ( Read more... )

Well, his set-up has attracted the attention of a teenage not!werewolf. Even if she's dressed as a fairy (complete with wings), her black hair in thick ringlets and her knives no where to be seen.

Also, Cyborg himself is fairly interesting to look at it, and Kait has ever been a curious girl.

"Movies?" She asks, curiously.

[ooc: Sadly, I shall have to call slowtime soon as I need sleep, but I'll pick up the tags up in the morning]

"Cute costume," Cy says automatically. The sort of thing he bets Starfire might like. "You don't know what a movie is?"

"Not my idea."

Although it is very cute, she agrees. She just wishes it left her with a knife. Plenty of room in the skirt to hide it.

"And...No. Something to do with the moving pictures in the other..." She gestures towards his screen, meaning the other Milliways television.

"OK, that there and this here are both TVs...televisions. You watch things on it. This is just a lot bigger." Though it's tiny compared to the giant screen the Titans have in their main room. "And one of the things you can watch is movies. It's like a play.

"Only these movies are scary. And kinda bloody." Plays are never scary, or bloody, right? (Someone slept through his English classes too often.)

After what's just happened at home?

Let's just say that even robots need catharsis now and then.

"Sounds like a plan."

"Huh." Cy hasn't seen anyone remotely like him here. "You another cyborg, or a full robot?"

"Full robot," Bumblebee answers, his voice crackly and rusty. "As far as organic flesh goes- never had it, never will." That part was in a distinctly different, Caribbean-sounding voice from an old commercial. "Unless Bar pulls one of her holiday tricks, anyway."

"Nothing wrong with having flesh. I like having both." Someone once tried to take it from him. That wasn't pleasant. "But as long as you don't mind me being a cyborg, nice to meet you. I'm...Cyborg." Sometimes his name can sound a little lame. "What do you mean, holiday tricks?"

"So, what've you got?" enquires Enzo.

"You name it, I got it." Pause. "Though wouldn't know the names, would you?

"What kind do you like? I have ghosts, vampires - the old school kind and not the icky romance type, werewolves, serial killers, aliens, zombies, killer toys, evil teachers, and crazy stalker chicks."

"Uhhhhh... killer toys!"

He does not want to know about icky romance vampires.

"I got just the film...A Doll's House!" Definitely not based on the Ibsen play. "It's about a Soldier Jim doll that comes to life and starts killing all the adults." He looks through about 90 discs before finding it.

"Any idea what you're supposed to be?"

It is a tee-vee, and does not contain squid!

When Teja settles down, a movie called 'The Rook 3' is just starting, and he watches with fascination as some grim future cityscape of perpetual rain erupts into bloody violence and melancholy music, without any immediately apparent story.

Cy returns with popcorn to find a new movie and a new audience. "I didn't know I owned that one." In fact, he barely knows the title. "Looks kinda bleak. Well, it must be a horror film." Maybe it's Raven's?

Nah.

"Greetings," Teja says. "Is this your tee-vee?"

Perhaps he was not supposed to watch it?

"Indeed, this looks truly grim, and as horror-ful as life may get."

He is not a sunny and cheerful man himself, by any means.

"It's my TV, but everyone is free to pick a film. If it's in the box, I like it.

"Though you are right about this one. Doesn't look like fun. Looks like one of those Swedish things they make fun of." Which is all he knows about Swedish cinema.

The screen catches Sameth's attention at one point when he's fiddling with his new arm and he comes over to look at the stack of movies,

"Is this some sort of small Odeon?"

"It's called a TV. It's like a movie screen, sort of." Pause. "That is a very wild robot arm. Very...what do they call that on the Net? Steamtech?" He's not up on his fannish terms.

"I've never seen one so small before. Thanks, I don't normally have it but I'm trying to figure it out."

"You don't usually have an arm there?" Someone like him, maybe. "And this is big for a TV. Just small for a movie screen. Similar but different."
