Scotland clearly doesn't get cold in fall. Although...he thinks it was pretty damn freezing here last year, if memory serves. Still, mild or not, the leaves are dropping and it's coming up on Halloween so it's time for a shift that embraces that.

Besides, he's tired.

At least Justin's ankles will be warm.

"Prrrrrrrrrrr."

Warm, and being stared at.

'Oh. Hi, Yrael.

...cider?'

Do cats gets drunk? That'd be awesome to see.

Yrael enjoys it when the mulberries start fermenting on the trees, and the birds, drunk, fall out of the trees.

Om nom.

"I had not yet thought about what I would order, but yes, cider would be lovely."

He promises not to try and trip the bartender.

Justin would be vexed if he did.

Or something.

'Don't worry, I didn't make it,' he says, as he ladles him out a mug.

'Cinammon stick?'

Hey, a live person and a Happy Hour list that Ciel can order from. He approves!

Admittedly, it's hard to tell - his expression hasn't quite left the "cool, little line of non-engagement" range, a look which his muted, black eye-patch doesn't help to dispel. But the narration guarantees, he's in an above average mood, today!

"I'll have the hot chocolate," the boy notes, setting the top hat he'd come in with down on the Bar in front of him.

"With the whipped cream."

Justin eyes the top hat, then looks at the kid and grins.

'It's totally not the same without whipped cream,' he says, and sets about making it up.

'How's it going?'

"No, it would be too plain without it," Ciel concurs. He puts a high premium on the sugar-content (and the fanciness) of his sweets.

But then there's small talk, and he's completely unsure of how to deal with that. He takes a few seconds to look back up at the specials board, taps his fingers at the rim of his hat, and, finally, shrugs.

"Fine, I suppose. Ah - is your work here going...?" He waves one hand in a vague way, before supplying as a finish: "Well?"

Lucky for him then that Justin is an artist. This is a whipped cream topping with style, complete with patterned chocolate sprinkles over it.

'Well as it can go,' he replies.

Justin has little to no trouble with small talk.

'It's a more interesting job than most because most of the people here are so different. Take you, for example.'

The beautiful tall hot chocolate is placed in front of him with a flourish.

"My uncle loves that stuff. Hot chocolate."

Jacen leans on the bar, grinning at the older teen behind it. He points to the specials board and the things written beside Hot Chocolate.

"What's the other stuff with it?"

'He must have good taste because it's awesome.'

Justin swivels to look at the board.

'Amaretto is, like, an almond liqueur. Its really sweet but good. And cream is...cream.'

Who doesn't know what cream is?

"Oh, alcoholic, huh?"

Jacen makes a face. He tried brandy once and almost threw up all over his dad. :\

"But whipped?" He frowns thoughtfully. "What does that mean?"

''fraid so. And you're a bit young for me to bend the rules for - but remember it for when you're older, it's really good.'

He blinks at the frown.

'It's...you know, when you beat it until its firm.'

He stops because he hopes this kid's mind doesn't go where his just went.

'I can make one if you like - if you don't like the look of it, I'll have it and you can order something else.'
