"You look ready for the game, Dr. Cullen."

"Hi, Meg," Carlisle smiles, as close to bouncing as he gets. "Today is my team meeting, so I'm excited to see how everyone gets on with one another."

"Do you know many of the players on your team? Aside from your daughter?"

"Hardly any, actually. It almost makes me nervous."

Sameth has seen baseball gloves before and so heads over to talk to the man before his Death sense stops him within about a foot of Carlisle, he's gone far too pale.

At first when Carlisle sees the man approaching he expects Carlisle to be a member of his team. When he freezes, Carlisle's look of excitement pitches down.

"Hello. Can I help you?"

He should be polite, this man might be a friend of Mogget's so he ends up nodding and finally manages to say,

"I'm going to watch the game and haven't seen a mitt before."

There, no mention of Death, Mogget would be proud actually Mogget would probably be rude.

"Oh! Well here -- " Carlisle pulls his off and hands it to the man for closer examination. "Mine is somewhat antiquated by standards at home in my current year, but I prefer the style."

Kaylee, a few seats down, tilts her head at the glove.

It doesn't look very practical.

Carlisle notices the look at his glove. He's used to it - the glove is about sixty years old.

"There are newer ones, but I don't like them as much."

"What's it for?"

"A sport called baseball? There is to be a game here outside next week; I am captaining one of the teams."

Call it decades of experience?

"I should assume you are unfamiliar with it."

He is! Carlisle is...tightening the laces uselessly!

Probably far less exciting to the blonde woman than to Carlisle himself.

"Hello, young lady."

Carlisle doesn't appear much older, if any, than Elle herself. Old habits.

"Tightening the laces on my baseball glove before my team meeting this afternoon. Are you familiar with baseball as a sport?" Carlisle asks.

Even if she doesn't follow the sport, most people in his world can recognize a baseball glove.

"Do you need to be calmed down?" Jasper asks, frowning down on Carlisle and sounding more like the parent, as his Seattle Times gets dropped on the counter in favor of snatching the glove away.

"No. I am just being prepared for my meeting, that is all."

Carlisle wants his glove back, Jasper.

As if he doesn't already known. He's only around because Alice is about somewhere for the meeting herself.

Giving Jasper a considering glance, "I hope you're not too worried about us. Alice and I are prepared."
