"I find it's a good idea every few days," Nikola says, glancing up from his work with a smile.

Nikola shrugs. "I don't like to stick around too long in other people's beds."

We can't have geniuses dehydrating (or something), so there may be a waitrat squeaking at Nikola from the foot of the couch, holding up a drink on a tray.

There may also be a note with it, though all it says is "The original is to be preferred, of course."

Nikola takes the drink and the note, eyeing both suspiciously. (The drink more than the note, though. The note mostly makes him smile.)

He sets the bottle aside for the moment. He knows better than to drink strange beverages given him by anonymous strangers.

There are fingers scritching along the back of said vampire's neck from behind.

Sneaky leopard is good at scritches.

Nikola's head creeps forward a little to make room for more scritches.

"A little to the left."

Fingers move to oblige the request, adding just a hit more nail along skin then might be necessary for a scritch.

She's also now perched on the back of said couch.

"Much better," Nikola says, sighing in satisfaction.

Dorian's been around the bar long enough to know future technology and the general purpose behind it, so Nikola won't be quizzed about the laptop.

But the immortal is going through a stack of papers in a nearby chair, signing various things, when he lifts his head and sees Nikola. A smirk slowly curves his lips as he watches the vampire.

Nikola is fairly intent on his work. He has a tendency to get lost in whatever it is he's doing, even if it's just data entry.

Good for Dorian, then, because he rather likes watching people before he decides to speak. Ganymede's surprise of bring Nikola to their room hadn't allowed Dorian the ability to observe first, ask questions second. He takes full advantage of Nikola's distraction for the moment, though he will interrupt him soon enough.

A frown creases his brow for a moment as he reorganizes some of the data.
