Mia would tell Xaldin he was right, but she's not really sure she wants to. He probably would know he was right if he remembered anyway.
Some way or another, Mia learned that she likes the sight of men in dresses. Usually just her husband, but she thinks Xaldin wears it well. Hey, is it really so different from those big coats?
"Hi Xaldin," she says, smiling. "Come on, I'll buy you a drink."
"It goes well," Teja says. "The usual drama of this place seem, momentarily, in abeyance. I am making love-tokens from silver, gold or mokume-gane, not sharp-edged weapons from folded steel. The former seem in greater demand, right now."
He looks at Xaldin's dress. "Is it a special holiday, in one of your worlds?"
"Hm? No. I just felt like wearing a dress today. Sometimes I do that." he shrugs "I'm glad that things seem calm. It's rare in life that such happens."
That would be the Zed growling at Bar to give him a bourbon like it's somehow Bar's fault that he didn't get one hours ago. Which, given Zed, he might actually be thinking.
(It should be pointed out that the way Zed says this implies, "'Course, I'm yelling at the damn bar, she's part of this whole nuthouse that dragged me here for goddamn years now, so she's got it coming, and that's not even a fraction of what the Big Asshole will be getting if I ever get my mitts on him.")
(Which is a lot to pack into one word, but Zed manages it.)
The big man just starts laughing at that. Quietly but with the attitude of someone who has just seen something so hysterically funny that not laughing would physically hurt.

She probably won't say why.

" - Thank you, Mia. Any reason why?"

Teja cannot tell; and Xaldin, he argues with himself, has known very many worlds.
To him, it looks like a woman's dress; but he is willing to forgo cultural prejudices.
"Greetings, Xaldin!" he says, approaching his friend.

Xigbar settles himself next to Xaldin, for a given value of 'settles.'
[hoping you don't mind a lateish tag; have not felt well the last week, so.]

And he really likes Xaldin's pretty eyes. Not that he'd say it in those words. Where other people can hear.
