Shelley raises a bemused finger.

"...No," she decides. "But I rather feel as if I am. Have they... worked out a system of timekeeping yet?"

Alas, that she cannot cry 'what year is it?!' in Milliways!

"Not to my knowledge. 'End of the universe' is about as close as you're gonna get."

"Well, that's familiar," Shelley sighs, rubbing her forehead ruefully. "But inconvenient. It could have been centuries! I don't really recognise many people..."

WARNING WARNING WARN- Oh wait, she does not know this lady!

(It's an ingrained suspicion of attractive people in evening dress, nothing personal.)

Shelley blinks a bit, then waves a vaguely sheepish hand. "I, um... no. No, just... a very long time. Since I was here. They have changed the..." Actually, they really haven't changed much in the decor. "...Patrons."

"New people arrive all the time... this is Milliways, after all." The woman offers a hand. "I am The Devil. And no, I am not here to take your soul to hell."

The way she smiles cheerily...

Creepy on itself.

There is a pause, while Shelley's expression runs the gamut from worried to confused to a visible Oh, Milliways.

"I see!" she says brightly, and shakes hands. "You are very straightforward."

It's new!

Taptaptap go the phalanges drumming a rhythm on the bar.

You've got a lot to answer for, Shelley.

(Still, he looks pleased to see her. He's grinning.)

Um.

"It was completely not my fault this time! I'm sorry! Hello!"

Shelley casts her mind back as she makes her way over to a barstool.

"A couple of years, I think. Maybe one and a half. It was going so well!"
