Ellen has been fixing leaky pipes around Megaton for most of today. The work pays well and keeps her out of trouble, and gives her a chance to acclimate a little further to being under the open sky. Eventually, Doc settles a table near Ellen, setting a rifle down on the table and then signaling a rat over. He could use a cup of coffee.

From the reddish tint of his skin, he's been exposed to the cold and wind for at least a few hours, but he doesn't seem to mind it much. Ellen gets a smile when he realizes she's nearby.

"Evenin', Miss Park," he says, with a polite nod.

The rifle gets an interested look. Ellen's only recently been introduced to those, and the model she knows is considerably more complicated.

"Evening, Doc," she says when she looks up. "How've you been?"

He considers that for a few seconds.

"Well, today's been alright," he finally settles on. "Long week. How've you been...I hope you've been well?"

Doc unloaded the gun before he brought it inside, and it's just a single shot, so he knows it's 'safe'.

Ellen, also, has to do some considering. Eventually she says, "Nothing's happened that hasn't been fixed, really. Thank you for asking, though."

Passing by, Tanya stops to offer a smile and nod. "Oh, hello, Ellen, right? Nice to meet you again."

"Oh- hello." Ellen smiles. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you there before or I would've said something. How have you been?"

[tanyadams]

"Hmm, well, all things considered. And you?" Tanya's world is at war, but they now have a good chance to win.

That is good news.

"All right, I think," says Ellen. "I've been in and out of home for a while now, working on a few things before I go to find my father."

Spoon looks up and assess the Vault armor in a professional manner.

Or a crazy manner.

You know. Whichever.

It's light armor attached to sturdy fabric, the kind of stuff that turns away combat knives' edges but can't hold off a direct stab by a determined person, and that slows bullets down but by no means stops them. Might do against being bitten or clawed by small predators. Useful and light, if one is looking for protection against a moderately hostile environment rather than full-on combat.

"Huh." Spoon says, tilting his head, "What d' you Hunt?"

"Hm?" Ellen glances up. "Oh- well, the only thing I've gone out after on purpose is land mines, unless you count me needing to track down my father. But I don't think you do?"
