Tom spent a sleepless night visiting the main painting portals (of which there are many) in the House of Arch, ensuring his wards are firmly in place. His work is not quite done, however.

He walks in through the House of Arch painting and spends a few moments in whispered conversation with the dogs, who put down their cards immediately and soon begin to growl deep in their throats. Nodding to them, his face devoid of its usual easy-going charm, Tom makes his way to Bar.

A note addressed to Ingress appears before he can place down any of his own parchments. He reads it since he has no qualms as to taking the parental prerogative. Bar gave it to him for a reason. He conjures a blank piece of parchment to begin an additional note to the writers.

He has several notes to leave, as this is the first threat to the House since Blodwen, the White Rider, infiltrated his home. This threat is different for Tom. Years ago when he took the nightmares of Ingress and Door when Nyarlathotep terrorized the patrons of Milliways, he also took their terror of Croup and Vandemar. Tom is furious, but for the first time in a long time, he is more than a little scared, although he would never, ever admit it.

Bar gave me your note to Ingress. I thank you for sending it; we have been made aware that Croup and Vandemar are here. These creatures murdered Door's family and kidnapped Ingress several years ago, and while we do not know if they come from a timeline in which these things have happened, they are dangerous. We will tell Ingress of their return, and in the meantime, please be careful.

Thank you,
Tom Riddle, Lord Ostium of the House of Arch

It has been some time since I spoke with you, but I find I must seek you out. The Angel Islington's creatures, Croup and Vandemar - the ones who murdered Door's family and kidnapped Ingress - have appeared in the bar.

I am not sure what we are going to do about this possible threat, but I cannot believe their presence can lead to pleasantries. If the need should arise and you could aid us, I would ask for the favor.
~Tom

Bloody hell, Draco, we are in a fix. Croup and Vandemar - the ones who murdered Door's family and kidnapped Ingress - have appeared in the bar. I know you're busy on Luna, but if you could stop by and help me shore up some new defensive charms I'd like to add to some of the portals, I'd be very grateful. Please tell Mia that if she comes into the bar, she should watch out for a short, talkative man and a tall thug who is his constant companion.

~Tom

I regret to bother you so soon after your return, but I have a matter of great importance to discuss with you. The creatures who murdered Door's family and kidnapped Ingress have appeared in the bar. We do not know from which time they come, or whether they have, in fact, done the foul deeds for which we know them, but I wanted you to know. Their names are Croup, a short, loquacious man, and Vandemar, a tall brute.

If the rules of the bar are followed, then all shall be as well as it can be. If not, my house may need your aid. If you are able to speak with me, let me know a time in which I might come to you.

Yours respectfully,
Tom Riddle, Lord Ostium of the House of Arch

The creatures who murdered Door's family and kidnapped Ingress have appeared in the bar. We do not know from which time they come, or whether they have, in fact, done the foul deeds for which we know them, but I wished you to know a possible threat exists against us. Their names are Croup, a short, loquacious man, and Vandemar, a tall brute. Be wary of them, and do not hesitate to contact Security should you notice anything amiss, especially in regards to the House of Arch painting or any of its residents.

We may need your help. I hope this is not the case. I shall speak with you as soon as I may, but there is much to do in the House in the way of protective magic in the meantime.

~Tom Riddle

He leaves the notes with Bar and returns to the House. There is more charmwork that needs doing.
