When the front door swings open, the man that steps into the bar blinks to help his eyes adjust to the change in lighting. But it's probably not the man you notice first, even with his dusty boots and clothes in browns and greens, the leather patch on the right shoulder of his jacket, or the scarf around his neck.
It's likely the shotgun sitting on his shoulder. Eight gauge. Fifty inches long. If you were to pick it up, you'd find it weighing in at just about eleven pounds.
There's no tin-star on his chest, but he uses one hand to tip his hat back slightly, slowly glancing left, then glancing to his right...
...yeah, he's new.
