Wanderer accepts the offered milkshake -- normally she'd pick strawberry because Melanie disliked them, but she liked chocolate just as well and at this point she wasn't feeling up to any more internal arguments.

Well, that's fascinating.
Wanderer stares for a bit before deciding it can't possibly hurt to say hello. The rat probably isn't actually reading... but then again, she's not one to rule such things out. She used to be a giant, super-intelligent spider.
"Excuse me?"

The rat turns to glance at Wanderer, curious as to whether it was he whom she was calling to.
She does seem to be staring at him.
He smiles, ears twitching. "Bonjour," he says. "Can I help you?"
