It's been a while since Parker entered Milliways, and it shows. His entire demeanor, almost relaxed when he opened the door shifts to a more closed language.

Taking a cigarette out of his pocket, he lights it and takes a seat at the bar.

Knocking on the wood, he says, "Keep that door open, you hear?"

X turns to look at him, nostrils flaring slightly at the scent of his cigarette.

"She will listen?"

"It's better than not asking and getting stuck," he says. "Makes me feel like I've got more agency."

He offers over a cigarette.

She shakes her head, shifting backward a little.

"It is not useful to pretend."

Parker laughs.

"Yeah. But that's all we do every day. Pretend things."
