Alright, so even with both Helen's and Jamie's warning when they arrived, Joris did try the door

"Looking for something?" he asks, casually enough. Raguel's a couple booths back, and can see more or less the same view as Joris.

Joris half-turns, and Raguel gets a slight smile before he shrugs and frowns back at the front door.

"I don't think its going to really change just by looking at it. But-"

A deep breath, and Joris pointedly turns his chair around to Not look at the front door.

"I did manage to get back here this time without shooting anyone."

Raguel snorts.

"A step up, maybe. But haven't you been back here since then?"

He occupies himself with a lighter, looking up at Joris through the smoke.

"Some of my friends here helped me to get back- we used some explosives to clear the rats out of the way so I could leave without them over-running the bar."

A faint grin, because Joris is young, and at that age, explosives are still on the fun side of things.

"And then we all re-grouped and went back after the Swarm Demon. Afterwards the door wasn't there- Konstam and I looked for it." He shakes his head, the smile dropping.

"I didn't come here from my world, this time. They took me, and we just barely managed to find out way here- and I can't get back."

"You should eat, you know," a young woman with red hair informs him, more worried than severe. "At your age, at least, it's really important."

The rolling of his eyes is more of a habitual teenage reaction than anything directed at Cathy- specially with the slight frown directed at his plate.

"I know. I'm just-

"I'm just thinking."

"Hey, science agrees with me."

Cathy tilts her head. "Yeah? Anything important?"

Her voice is gentle, but not condescending. She's not great with teenagers--but she knows quite a few. And she was one not that long ago, herself.

Joris bites his lip, and finally after a long moment looks up to Cathy.

"I'm trying to remember the lessons I had about the other worlds we knew about to see if I can recall anything about the ones we just went through, to see if I could figure out a way to get back home. They said we could try at least, and once we get out of here we can keep trying- for all of us."
