He looks down at the small figure of his daughter -- currently safe by his side -- and smiles, a little.

"Looks like Benny couldn't wait to get back."

"He likes to sniff stuff."

Jordan tries to sound like she knows what she's talking about.

Really she's trying not to bounce in place.

And she's looking around at everything.

Are her friends here?

"I'm sure there's a lot here for him to sniff."

He's looking around too, if for different reasons.

"People give him food, too. He's always hungry."

She's seen it.

And she will never mention all the ice cream she gets.

Coyote looks at the cigarette she just lit up, then at the pair who have just arrived from the door. She sighs and snuffs it out before standing and heading in their direction.

"Coyote!"

Jordan gives up on trying not to bounce.

She's also waving (with the hand not attached to Frank).

"Hi!"

"Good evening, Jordan. Mister Black. How does the day find you?"

She herself is in her leathers again, looking dusty and maybe a little tired. Last leg on the journey home, but who knows how long she'll be able to stay.

"Here."

His rough-gravel voice is dry, but not unfriendly.

"Good to see you again, Coyote."

Jack's sitting at a table near the door, leaning over a real estate paper and a large cup of coffee. He jumps as something nudges his leg, and he looks down to see a black and white dog sniffing his shoe.

He's about to look for a collar when he hears Jordan's shout and she and Frank walk in and the dog runs off to sniff at something else.

"You have a very adventurous dog, I see," Jack says, as the dog sniffs around the fireplace.

"Almost as curious as a cat," Frank agrees. "Benny! Leave that alone."

"Hi, Jack."

A beat.

"This is my daughter. Jordan."

Jordan leans very heavily against Frank's leg, looking up at Jack.

"Hi."

She shifts her attention to Frank.

"Is he your friend, Daddy?"

"Hi, Jordan," Jack says with a friendly smile. "I think friendly acquaintances would work. We don't get to talk in here very often. What's your dog's name?"

Benny doesn't say anything.

He is a perfectly normal dog.

That has survived an encounter with Sylar.

Still.

"Benny, come on."

Benny, after casting a slightly hopeful look at Elle (maybe she has food!), wags his tail and moves toward Jordan. And Frank.

"I hope he wasn't bothering you."

His voice is deep and gravel-rough, but friendly.

The little girl's hand is in his.
