Alice had seen the sign about the tabs in Bar. And the moment she had, she'd paid her own tab, Carlos' and her big brother's. So if Carlos or Kaplan went to check their balance it would be zero. In fact, any time they went to do that or pay for something they probably wouldn't be able to. If only because it was already taken care of.
Coming in from outside she goes over and sits down next to Kaplan. "What's wrong, big brother?"
Kap is frowning up at the board, the most perplexed of expressions upon his face. "There had been numbers up there," he states rather matter of factly, "A lot of numbers. So many it could about make me cry."
Then he cast a glance in Alice's direction. "Then the numbers went away. I'm still waiting on Bar to tell me it's April Fools day and out the numbers back up there. So far she hasn't."
"Well... it isn't April, so April Fools day doesn't even apply. Nor would it. And Bar doesn't do anything without a reason." She isn't going to just flat out tell him that she paid the tab. Bar might eventually tell him but she wasn't going to.
