Tonight, Sora is sitting by the fireplace in a comfy seat. He hasn't been here in a while; it's kind of nice to just sit back and relax for a bit.

He closes his eyes for a moment, appearing to look as though he might be dozing.

He actually isn't, though. Not really.

Maybe he's simply waiting.

Soft hands slip gently over his closed eyes.

Two sets of lungs breathe in, hold, exhale in sync. The cycle repeats. And again.

Almost as though there aren't two people breathing, but one.

Experience would tell him to jump up and protect himself, but it is instinct that lets him know whose hands they are.

And that alone makes him smile a bit.

He brings his hands up over Kairi's.

"Hi."

"Hi yourself." She's in no hurry to move her hands.

This is nice. She feels calm - at peace.

"I was hoping I'd find you here."

It could be that he's been waiting for her, too. But he won't admit it. (Not yet, anyway.)

"Yeah?"

Sora doesn't mind so much, either. It's definitely a comfortable feeling - even if he sort of can't see.

The fireplace is a comfortable place, isn't it?

There's a young woman also by the fireplace who seems to be making a stack of crumpled papers.

She tosses the latest failed letter in frustration, which ends up bonking Sora on the head.

If he bothers to open it, he'll see that it says, "Dear Lucius and Narcissa, we would like the pleasure of your company at dinner," at the top.

Well, that shocks him awake (if he'd been dozing in the first place, that is).

In any case, a startled Sora straightens in his seat, his hand automatically going for the crumpled page.

He glances about, noticing Mia nearby.

Cautiously, "Uh - this yours?"

She looks up from her new blank page and looks sheepish.

"Yes. I'm sorry that I bothered you with it. This has just been harder than I thought it was going to be."

She puts her pen down.

"You can just add it to the pile there," she adds, gesturing to the other failures.

Hmmm, for some reason he seems familiar.

Probably just the hair, though it isn't nearly as wild as Axel's.

He raises an eyebrow, but leans forward to place the crumpled piece with the others as directed.

"What're you working on?"

There's another teenaged boy settling into the armchair opposite, contemplating his giant bowl of chips with salt and vinegar with tremendous amounts of greed and glee.

(He hasn't had a decent chip in ten years!)

It is the pungent smell of salt and vinegar that gets Sora to open his eyes, moreso than the movement of the other boy.

However, he doesn't say anything at first. He does have his own craving for chips now, though.

When Jamie starts eating, he eats with reverent focus and dedication - the kind that signals that food doesn't necessarily come often - so it takes him a few moments to notice that the boy across from him is now apparently awake. When he does, he offers a friendly sort of smile (though it's interrupted by the next bite.)

Sora returns the smile with a small grin before stretching his arms a bit.

"They good?"

"Soraaaa. Long time no see," Axel says, grinning as he plunks himself down in the couch opposite.

Sora blinks 'awake', straightening immediately in his seat and stiffening a bit.

He'd let out a yelp, but he's too cool for that. (Really.)

"Oh - hey, Axel."

"How've you been?" Axel asks. "Saved any worlds lately?"

"It's been the usual," Sora says with a shrug, still slightly wary.

He pauses.

Then, "... I heard you got your heart."
