[OOM: After Milliways, Holmes inquires after Watson's odd behaviour and things don't go over quite well.]

The Door opened and a very cold looking Watson walked through, unravelling his scarf from his neck as he walked and stomping his boots in a vain attempt to remove the snow slush from the sole. It didn't work, and he simply got a mess.

Often, Kick seems to appear out of nowhere.

Like now, for example.

"Hi!" she says, already propped on a stool next to him, with Nero sniffing at the hanging scarf.

"Hello." he smiled. A little one, but a smile nonetheless.

He eyed the dog sniffing his worn scarf.

"What's the matter?" she asks, ignoring Nero as he begins pawing at the scarf.

Look! It wiggles when he fwaps it!

"Mind's on a lot of things." he answered.

He laughed when the dog started playing with the old muffler.

"It seems your dog has taken a liking to my scarf."

Rest and relaxation were a welcomed concept after having run around Kyoto and the Island of the Dead to get the sword back. To say Inari wasn't sore or needing a week at the spa was an understatement.

So the kitsune kami sits reclined back into her chair sipping a cup of sake with half closed blue eyes by the time she spots the oddly dressed man enter. "I," she purrs around the edge of her cup, "am assuming you were not expecting to find this place again, yes?"

On a normal day, Watson would take affront to the fact that someone was insinuating that his choice of dress was of all things 'odd', but he was in no mood to quarrel now.

He also lacked the ability to read minds.

"Expected? Yes. Knew when? No."

"Milliways has a tendency to do that. When I was last here it was a few thousand years before the found me again." Another sip from the sake cup and the smile upon the oriental woman's face grows. All she needed was a couple of rice cakes and everything would be perfect. Well..for the most part.

"Would you like to join me for some sake?"

A few thousand years. A heavy topic to be thrown so lightly into a conversation.

He decided not to pry.

"That's fine, thank you." he said. "Brandy's good enough for me at the moment. Perhaps when I'm finished."

"You look," observes a man from not far down the Bar, "very much like I felt not three days ago. Although somehow I doubt your current situation was brought about by an onset of interest in politics."

Ray came to the Bar today from meeting with his sister to inform her that her rather peculiar brother was going to be in the public eye more often than usual from now on. Ordinarily this would have no consequence at all, but he made an effort to dress respectably in the hopes that it would soften the blow; Catherine had never been one to approve of her brother's eccentricities, after all. Spend long enough working in a single setting and it leaves its mark on your choice of clothing; Ray's idea of respectable looks like something one might find on a university librarian or bookshop owner.

No glasses, though. Despite the icon.

Watson smiled with a small bit of amusement. A wonderful achievement if anyone was trying to achieve it.

"No, I'm afraid my mind prefers to stray away from things like politics."

"I envy you. I've avoided it most of my life, but I seem to've been dragged into it thanks to meeting exactly the wrong people for a reasonably peaceful scientific career."

Which, truthfully, is pretty much every single person Ray's ever found interesting ever, but it's probably best not to disillusion the poor fellow. It's been a long year.

"Raymond Stantz, electrical and mechanical engineering- among other things- at your service. I don't believe I know you, but I've been out of the Bar for a while, so if I do and I've forgotten, feel free to correct me."

"No, I would imagine not. I've only visited once before and it was not very long that I stayed. I'm Dr. John Watson. I'm afraid being a doctor is all I am, but a pleasure to meet you just the same, Mr. Stantz." He held out a hand to be shaked.

Will had spent the morning outside on his own routine of sword and bow, so enters from the back door, not quite as dirty just cold and heads straight for a table.

The rats glare at him too and he almost knocks into John with his longbow as he finds a good table,

"Pardon me, milord, dinna see ye there."

"Quite alright." he said hastily. "Wouldn't think you could get anywhere properly while holding that."

The bow is currently unstrung and soon in a chair,

"I'm used to carryin' it round Sherwood, sir, an tis many times I wouldna be alive without it."

Watson smiled softly. "Dangerous woods you must live in, sir."

[That OOM was exceptional. You've got the tone to a T.

What a delightful thing for a Sherlockian to wake up to. :D!]

[OOM: You know what? THANK YOU. Because I was so paranoid about having balls'd everything up. So your approval really makes me relieved about it.
