[OOM, upstairs: A practice date. The Delicate Flowers nightclub is upstairs, and so the fact that Sallie Reynolds and Merriman Lyon are coming from there may not be immediately apparent to anyone who sees them coming down the stairs and entering the bar. But they're most definitely coming down the stairs together, and both of them are dressed in a ( Read more... )

Coming in from a cold, damp November night in Cardiff, Bran Davies removes his dripping cap and overcoat and sets them on the back of a chair. "Noswaith dda, Merlion."

Merriman nods a greeting, and casts a glance at Bran's wet clothing. 'Noswaith dda. Better here than out in the wet, I gather?'

"Quite a bit." Bran pushes a lock of damp hair away from his eyes. "Of course all the pubs in Cardiff are full, with weather like this. Better here, really. How have you been?"

It should say something that Merriman actually has to think about this for a moment.

'If I say "Better than I have been of late", I think it will suffice in place of an exceedingly lengthy explanation involving magical corrections to the course of history on a scale of nearly epic proportions.'

His head tilts a little to one side. 'And yourself?'

Coyote leans against one end of the bar, smoking a cigarette and watching her breath trail up to the ceiling.

"Good evening, Professor Lyon." She grins at him.

Merriman looks over, and is about to reply in kind when something makes him pause.

Coyote may have a cigarette in hand, but there is a different kind of haze about her that has nothing to do with tobacco smoke. Wild Magic, he would automatically define it, but not quite the same as that which he has come to expect from her presence. She seems fairly unconcerned about it, but that is neither here nor there to him.

'Good evening, Coyote,' he says at last, his expression on the uncertain side of neutral. 'How goes it with you?'

"All is as well as I can expect from the world," she replies, giving him a lazy once-over. "It seems you are enjoying your evening as well."

She absently tucks a lock of hair back over her shoulder, brushing against the owl feather tucked in her hair tie.

'Indeed.'

Enjoyable evenings have been thin on the ground for him of late; this one in particular was a welcome change. He relaxes a little, but his tone is still circumspect as he adds:

'I may be breaking some unwritten rule of etiquette by mentioning this, but something tells me that I would probably not be wise to approach you too closely at the moment.'
