Ray's been in the Bar for some time, studying. He gets oblivious when this happens; it's a failing of his. Once in a while, though, he remembers to look up.

... okay, that's new. He sets his book of rabbinical lore about the Ark of the Covenant aside and heads carefully in the big fellow's direction, stopping what he hopes is a reasonable distance away.

The tauren did not miss a human walking toward him. Neither did he miss how far away the human stopped himself. ...All humans rather looked alike to him. "Yes?"

His voice was deep, a bass nearly low enough to shake the floor beneath his large hooves.
