Hey, bar. Have a Doctor. He's over by the Window, ignoring a cup of tea and staring out at the destruction.

It's been a trying couple of days for him, and he's oddly glad to be back someplace familiar.

Company would not go amiss.

[ooc: 10:35 EST -- Holy crap, guys! I love you all, but I am sooo crashing now. Will pick up all tags tomorrow!]

"Do you have any use for guano?"

The voice is, of course, familiar. The question... not so much.

He doesn't acknowledge her immediately. It's not out of rudeness, but merely because he's not paying attention to the world around him.

When he does finally register that other presence, he looks up, brow furrowed.

"What was that?"

"Do you have. any use. for guano?" she asks again, sounding irritated for having to repeat herself.

She has a fruit cup in one hand and a cup of tea in the other and she eyes the table next to his own for a moment before sitting across from him.

"Oh. Um. No, can't say that I have. Found yourself with an overage, have you?"

"Greetings." A man in a black armour and a royal purple cloak, carrying a double-headed, long-shafted battle axe, has approached.

"What is this window or picture of lights that everybody is looking at?" Teja asks. He wants to be told before it is too late. It seems to be central to this place, and yet its use totally eludes him.

"That," he says without emotion, "is the end of all things. The destruction of the universe. Happening right outside this window."

"It has been happening since I arrived, five nights ago," Teja says. "After things end, aren't they over? After my last fight ended, I was dead. That was an end. This is a rather ongoing sort of end, in comparison."

So the 'tavern at the end of the known world' was a time as well, not just a place beyond the spheres and the firmament.

"It's on a loop. Or rather we are. This place, it's on temporal orbit around the event. We just keep circling back around and around, watching it over and over again."

That'd be Ace at a table being violent towards heavily charred and carbonized Gallifreyan technology, yup. No news here.

The Doctor looks over at her, unsurprised. He reaches into his coat, pulls out his sonic screwdriver, and tosses it to her.

"Haven't I gotten you one of these yet?"

Ace catches it easily, favoring him with a bright grin.
"Nope. Keep meanin' t'look up the specs, but I never do manage t'get 'round to it. Hullo Professor, how's it hangin'?"

"Well, at least I know what to get you for Christmas this year."

He takes a deep breath and sighs slowly.

"I'm... well enough."

Sarah Jane looks hesitant as she approaches him. She's not sure if she ought to be, considering everything previously said. But she was in the bar anyway, trying to escape chaos back home to work on her article.

So, with laptop under her arm, she walks over. She stops, a few feet in front of him and waves. Quietly, "Hello, Doctor."

It takes a second to register, his mind is so far away. Finally, he turns and gives her a weak smile. "Hello, Sarah Jane."

"I could go," she offers immediately. Although the look on her face says she really doesn't want to. Sarah places a hand on her stomach; it's become a comforting habit. "If I'm bothering you. The headaches and the like. I... oh, I just wanted to say hello."

There is someone else looking out of the Window, only she's standing with her hands pressed against the glass. A small woman, dark and she could be anywhere from the south of Spain to the north of India, but, really, she's North African. A tunic from a time where men still had bronze weapons and, yes.

Golden wings and instead of a mass of beautiful black hair, she has a mass of slender black snakes.

But she isn't looking at him (although, some of the snake are), just the Window.

He catches sight of her in his peripheral vision when she shifts. A Gorgon. Not the ones from his universe, but the actual mythical sort. No matter how many times he comes here, there's always something new and fascinating.

The Doctor steps over by her, just behind and to the left, looking at her reflection in the glass.

"You're a long way from home," he notes quietly. "Even longer than most of the people here."

Mirror is safe, mirror means that she can flick her eyes sidewise to his face.

"The door opened, and I fell," and there is a trace of amusement in her voice.

"You're not the first. I've seen entrances far more embarrassing than a little stumble."
