Missouri's had a good day. Told some folks some good news that was true for a change, instead of hiding the bad, and that just puts her in a good mood

Allie had been squeezed into a little nook by the fire, reading with almost absolute stillness until something warm and homey smelling drew her out of her inch-thick green tome.
"That smells good."
This came with a small, amused smile, and rather no other opening, as was quite wont of people her age.
Even if her presence barely reflected that age at all.
"Oh, hi there," Missouri says, moving the mug a little closer to her. It's an adult drink, after all.
This little girl- is not what she seems. Missouri can't read much through the interference ever present in the bar, but what she can isn't what she'd pick up from a regular child.
"Well hey, Allie. I'm Missouri. Got a good book there?"
Missouri's seen other kids around the place. It's kind of strange to think of kids around a bar, but it's a restaurant, too, so really, it's like any restaurant back home that provides liquor.
Missouri is getting... maybe not really stared at, but definitely looked at, or her general direction watched. She looks like a regular person, but the starer has learned quickly that here that means absolutely nothing.
Still, when he sees normal-looking people he sometimes watches to see if they do anything unusual (she has her feet on a table, which is kind of unusual, so maybe she's a confused alien trying to blend in with the people?), to hone his magic-detecting skills.
His sneaky staring skills still need work, unfortunately.
Linguini starts and turns what people in the interior design community call carmine. "No! I mean yes. I mean, sorry, I wasn't-- I just spaced out for a second."
No, he was just staring, but he has a way of being ten times more conspicuous when he's trying to do things covertly than he would be if he just did them normally that will take serious training to fix.

If people is the right word for them.
Like Raven.
