Missouri's had a good day. Told some folks some good news that was true for a change, instead of hiding the bad, and that just puts her in a good mood

"Good evening again," Giles smiled at her.

She puts her feet down and sits up a little straighter. "Well hey there, Rupert. How are you?"

"Rather busy, and grateful for a break, I must admit," He remarked, "How about yourself?"

"I'm enjoying my Friday night. It's been a good day, and an even better night. You want to join me? There's plenty of room by the fire."

"I'd be happy to, thank you." He got up, and headed over to sit down by her.

"Interesting choice of drink. Been a while since I've had one myself," Giles remarked when he caught a sniff of the rum and butter wafting upward. He then waved a waitrat over to order more.

"I never tried it before, but I'd heard about it and always wondered. So I thought tonight would be a good night to give it a try. It's really good."

She shifts to face him a little better.

"Now, I forgot; I know you do somethin' in the supernatural, but I can't recall what."

Giles nodded, "I'm known as a Watcher, if you ever spoken to a Slayer here, or to someone like Andrew Wells. Mostly it is monitoring the world for supernatural threats, and finding ways to deal with it. Also the training of Slayers." Since that whole once in a generation deal went kaput about the time of the Sunnydale hellmouth shutting down for good.

"That's right. I thought it had somethin' to do with vampires. I've never seen one. They're pretty much extinct on my world. And I don't think I've met a Slayer, either."

"Well two of them have left the bar for good, there might be one other still with Security, but I haven't spoken to her in some time. Originally there was only one to a generation, a young woman with the strength and skill to defeat the vampires and the powers of darkness. A chosen one."

He could only wish they were extinct in his world.

"We have Hunters for that. Takin' care of demons and the like. I'm not one, but I know a lot of them."

Wry smile, "Slayers have dealt with many demons. And I can speak from some experience that I've dealt with my share as well." Got his hands dirty with it as well. Literally.

"I've only done a little exorcism myself." The lady is modest. "I stick to the ghostly types."

"Tricky business that is," Giles remarked knowingly and then asked, "Medium work, channelling?"

"Cleansing with herbs and incantations, mostly. I pick up on the spirit and then I usher it out."

With extreme force.

"Sage is a good basic herb I know, do you use anything from the Key of Solomon in the incantations?"

[iwenttomissouri]

"I use a variety of herbs, dependin' on what I'm dealin' with. As for the Key of Solomon, I don't know. It might be. My granddaddy taught me everythin' I know, and he never learned how to read, bless him."
