Sam casts a quick glance to the side.

"Mac?" A beat. "You up for a drink?"

"Can I kiss the floor of the bar first?"

It's possible Sam's never heard her sound this relieved.

Even if she's not quite meeting his eyes.

"You're really gonna want a drink after that, yeah."

Does Mac have any idea where the bar floor's been?

Though alcohol's pretty good as a disinfectant.

You know, if she doesn't wanna pick up mouth-herpes, or anything.

Mac snorts wryly, rolling her eyes. "Dude, hyperbole," she says. "Learn it, love it."

And a pause. "I'm okay."

Drinking's not so much her thing, and it's probably not going to help anyway.

"Had an adventure?" Sallie asks, still sipping at a chilled blueberry oolong at her table near the observation window.

And none of which she'll be saying around someone who looks like her grandma. Sallie, in addition to that, gets a wan smile of hi, I don't know you, but nice to meet you.

A beat, and a sheepish smile.

"Hi, Sallie."

*It starts as a cheerful greeting, and turns into startled concern halfway through the syllable.*

You guys okay?

Dryly. A beat.

"I think we've got a little new information about that one problem you were looking into, though."

Uh ... which problem?

*He's got about three of them, right now.*

Dean's eyebrow goes up, but his smirk doesn't waver.

"Yeah, Sammy. Which problem?"

The group was getting eyed by the blond man near the bar. No, not want to pick the guys up or the girl kind of eyeing. This was of concern.

"Everything ok?"

"Fine," answers Mac, a little shortly, before relenting and blowing out a long breath. "Better now that we're back in this place."

Sam gives him an easy smile.

"Sorry-- we've just had a hell of a trip." A beat. "It shows, huh?"

Dean doesn't roll his eyes, just smirks slightly.

"Yeah, now that we're done with the obvious--you want a drink, dude?"

Dean's buying.

Probably.

Bev has homework in the bar again--the extra time she gets from doing it in the bar outweighs the distraction--but she looks up when Dean shuts the door.

"...Hey," she says a moment later, to the trio in general. "You guys okay?"

Dean spares her a grin, dust-covered though he may be.

"Nah, kiddo. We're fine. Long trip, though."

Long, pain in the ass trip, even.

"Hey, Bev."

Sam's smile is a little wry, but it's there.

Bev gives a wry smile of her own in response.

"Looks like it. Long, dusty trip."

They both look as much like Pigpen from the Peanuts comic as Bev's ever seen anyone look in real life.
