Sam gives him an easy smile.
"Sorry-- we've just had a hell of a trip." A beat. "It shows, huh?"
Reply
"Yeah, now that we're done with the obvious--you want a drink, dude?"
Dean's buying.
Probably.

John then added, "I'm John Smith, and you're?" He decides handshakes the way to go. Plus, any visions might give him an idea of what happened. Or if they still need help.

It's followed by a quick, reasonably friendly smile, and only a small hesitation before she takes the proffered hand. "I'm Mac. Hi."

It's too common a name to be a useful alias, and yet sometimes you just have to wonder.
None of this shows on his face, though.
"Sam Winchester."

Beat.
Beat.
Dean grins.
"Nah. Dean Winchester. Handy name you've got yourself."

Shaking Mac's hands, got glimpses of something. Shaking Sam's hand... that got more. And Sam might likely notice John noticing via vision. There was a long look back at Sam, so John's shaking of Dean's hand was mildly distracted from it.
"Odd place to turn up," he finally said.

"What, you mean here?"
Not that she's going to argue, but --

"Guess there's a lot of odd things around here."
A beat.
"Right?"

Dean grins, easy as anything.
"Blame's for pansies."
Not Winchesters.
Or so you'd think.
But Dean's kinda wary of John right now. He ain't that fond of people that look at Sam that way.

John sighed since the jig was clearly up, and something was up with them anyway.
"I have to level with you. Sometimes, I get visions when I touch something or someone. Of the future or the past."

Mac was whisked away, with no warning, to Sexist Misogynisticville, eighteen hundred and crappity-two. She almost got grabbed by the locals, and did get unexpectedly grabbed by Sam. She met someone who looked identical to Veronica and was anything but. And, finally, she got escorted home by somebody apparently awful enough to scare Calamity freakin' Jane out of her wits.
She's still freaked out, she wants to go home, and she really wants people to stop springing unexpected shit on her.
What all of this adds up to: Mac yanking her hands back to her bag, starting to back away from Johnny, and glaring at him in an equal mix of anger and fear.

But second he sees the look on Mac's face, it's as though a stone settles in the pit of his stomach.
This is what you've got to look forward to, if people find out.
"That's got to suck."
He means it.

That bit is directed at Mac.
Don't think Dean doesn't know how Sammy's brain works.
The idiot.
Then he turns back to Johnny.
"Yeah? How's that workin' for you?"
