Ravin is not crawling, but she can easily be found somewhere, with her Shakespeare book (Henry V); its her third re-read of the story, and each time she becomes less bothered by interruption.

Being a brat, the narration leaves it to the original poster to pick who is curious about the pale girl with the red eyes.

Dog, like real animals, does not have very good colour vision [not black and white, just can't see certain colours... *ahem*].

So naturally she doesn't notice them red eyes.

Just the book.

"Hello."

Ravin looks over the edge of her book, at the animal. A talking animal, not a surprising thing on itself for her. "Hello." The demi-lich learned to use some basic politeness with strage strangers.

The tall gangly dog wags her tail.

"I haven't seen you before. Or smelled you. Who are you?"

"Rabastan!" Asar-Suti said, turning up from somewhere with a stack of books under his arms. "Did I tell you I kicked out your brother?"

The problem with using singers as opposed to actors means the variety of facial expressions in singers isn't as great as you'd get with actors.

So we lament the lack of a truly "surprised" icon to use.

Damn.

"Bloody hell!" he exclaims as his forkful of beans goes flying. "Next time you intend to surprise me warn me first?"

Pause.

"Actually there's likely a lot of things you haven't told me, including anything to do with Rod."

"Well, dealing with kitchen rats that would be a threat to Gil if they weren't kitchen rats is my own business," Asar-Suti said, giving Rabastan a grim look. Well, the werewolf probably was allowed - the full moon wasn't all that far off. "Especially kitchen rats that tried to AK me before they became kitchen rats. Anyway, it was obvious that he was needed in your world - I put a clause in his spell that he can be human when he sets foot in your world, but will turn back into a rat when he comes back through the door, so he can do what your world needs him to do. Presumably and hopefully to get killed once and for all. Then I told him to beat it. He is gone."

"'Hopefully get killed once and for all'. You're such an optimist," he glooms back. "Rodolphus is stubborn. He'll find a way to survive. Maybe he won't be the smashing success he pictures himself to be, imagining himself riding his black horse to victory, but he will survive."

No one gets to the upper levels without being willing to resort to any means necessary to survive.

"Knowing this does not give me any degree of comfort either."

Killing him when they had the opportunity to do so might've been better, would Milliways let them back in after the deed of icing a fellow patron was done.

"Rabastan," says Arianrhod from the rafters, legs dangling, "it is far too early to be awake."

Coughing because he swallowed his food wrong after being surprised, it takes him a full minute to recover enough to actually speak.

Dog would smile, but she can't.

"Of course. But I can't sleep. Not when the full moon is so close."

"Mm," she nods, then peers at the dog.

"And who is your companion?"

"Don't know. Never met it before."

Dog gives Rabastan a wilting look.

"I am not an 'it'."
